What To Expect

Skip the notorious L.A. traffic and parking and let someone else do the work during this grand city tour of Los Angeles by coach. Your informative guide will navigate you past some of the city’s top highlights, providing the perfect introduction to the endless sights in this mecca of sun, sand, history and Hollywood.

Start your trip in the morning or afternoon, leaving from in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre or with a pickup from select Los Angeles hotels (if the option is chosen). From there you’ll begin an exploration of the famous sightseeing strip of Hollywood Boulevard, pausing first to see more than 200 cement hand impressions at the TCL Chinese Theatre, then taking a walk along the stars of the Hollywood Walk of Fame and to the Dolby Theatre, site of the Annual Oscars ceremony.

Continue by coach to see the Hollywood Sign from an optimal viewing spot. This iconic landmark was first erected in 1923. Just nearby on your tour are the movie studios for Paramount in West Hollywood, along with those for CBS television. For those passengers on the morning tour, you’ll also swing by the iconic Hollywood Bowl, site of performances by such musical luminaries as the Beatles and Judy Garland.

Drive next to Melrose Avenue, past the glitzy nightclubs along the Sunset Strip, and then to the playground of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills. Hop off here to explore glitzy Rodeo Drive on foot. On your way to Beverly Hills, check out the Miracle Mile, a stretch of several blocks of Wilshire Boulevard that contain the campus for LACMA (the Los Angeles County Museum of Art).

Proceed from Beverly Hills back to downtown Los Angeles, where you’ll cruise past Chinatown, Our Lady Cathedral, the Staples Center, and the Nokia Theatre at LA Live. You’ll enjoy stops at the Frank Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall, the prehistoric fossils at the La Brea Tar Pits and the historic 1818 Avila Adobe on Olvera Street.

Your trip also includes a shopping break at The Grove and The Farmer's Market, covering more than 140 stores, eateries, cafes and markets, taking time to grab lunch or a snack (at your own expense). Luckily this famous shopping center is just next door to the Farmer’s Market, the city’s largest open-air market, first opened in 1934.

End your day with a drop-off back at your hotel (if option selected) or on Hollywood Boulevard.

Really enjoyed the tour guide explaining L.A sites.
John_S, Feb 2020
I really enjoyed the sites and the length of the trip was perfect. Now I know where I want to visit the next time I am in L.A.
Good Tour of LA
Minnie_P, Jan 2020
We stopped at a lot of places to take in the sites of LA. But, we should have had more time to stay and and explore at the sites. Every stop was pushed for time. Needed more time at the Farmers Market. I would have liked to walk down Holloywood Blvd and took a picture in front of the Beverly Hills sign.
Grand city tour of LA
martina_a, Sep 2019
The tour was on schedule the entire time. The tour guide and driver were exceptional. The bus and the drive were smooth even in the L.A. traffic. The tour could have spent a little longer on the walk of fame and at rodeo drive. We felt this was a little rushed and didn’t get to see much there. Otherwise overall great.
Great tour!
Tilita_A, May 2019
Although it was a rainy Saturday, we opted for the covered bus tour and quickly realized we made a great decision! Our guides were AMAZING and so knowledgeable. We were able to get out for a walk around downtown as well as stop at the Farmer's Market for lunch. I would absolutely 1000% recommend this tour to others and it probably would have been even better if not for the rain.
Multilingual system on bus was all screwed up!
Christie L, May 2019
I was on Starline bus number 85 on May 27, 2019 Grand Tour multilingual Los Angeles. I was with guests visiting from Italy who spoke no English. They used the headphone device on the bus and they seemed very confused for the first 1/3 of the tour. The bus system had Portuguese language on the Italian station and the Italian language on the Portuguese station. Almost 1/2 the tour was over before we finally figured it out. Whoever programmed the foreign language system on the multilingual tour mixed up the languages when they programmed it. I mentioned it to the employee in the Starline office after the tour and she couldn’t care less. She took no action to remedy this problem for future guests. She just replied that no manager was on duty. On the bright side, the tour guide Brian was very entertaining.

DaSol_J, Mar 2018
To begin, the company royally messed up my morning. I had a cousin from Korea visiting the cause of this tour and I selected the option for Korean audio but selected the 12:30 tour time. We had arranged a pickup hotel and we were waiting there when it past 12 and I became nervous that no one was there. I called the office and they informed me that I was supposed to be on the 9:30 a.m. tour. I was shocked because I had called a week before to confirm my reservation AND my ticket said 12:30 p.m. too. The woman at the office informed me that because of my audio option, I had been automatically moved to the 9:30 a.m. I was completely taken aback. Not only is this a gross example of their unprofessionalism and lack of coordination, to me, it showed their lack of care for their customers because they didn't BOTHER TO INFORM ME. Needless to say I was very frustrated but we actually got to the 1st stop of the tour by uber - which cost quite a bit and the tour began. The tour itself wasn't great and it wasn't awful. The weather was dreadful but of course, this isn't the tour's fault at all. But I do believe that the advertising and the description of the tour felt inaccurate. The description made it seem like at all the attractions we would be given the opprortunity to leave the van and look around, take pictures, etc. But we got off at 2 places - the Rodeo Drive and the Grove for lunch. I'm not sure if this was because of the rain but it was rather disappointed to be stuck in the van while the tour guide spoke. The tour guide was wonderful but it can't be helped that after a few hours, we got antsy in the van. All in all, the organization and coordination of this company is HIGHLY unprofessional and just unskilled. The tour itself was very informative and interesting but feels more like an interesting lecture than a tour of anything - not interactive at all.

BRUCE was our tour guide in a small van and it was a lot better than being in a big bus......there were only four of us plus him.... He was very knowledgable about the history of all the sights and threw in some funny lines along the way...... The only thing my wife and I had a problem with was that we were told that we would be back at the starting point at 6 p.m. and it was about an hour late.....we know the traffic is horrible.....I'd suggest that they tell you the tour ends at a certain time, but don't expect to get to your car until later than expected..... Overall, it was a fun informative experience and would suggest it to someone who wants to see the entire LA area....

This tour was great. Farmers market was interesting, unfortunately we didn't spot any movie stars. The drive through Beverley Hills and Hollywood was good. Seeing all the stars names in the pavement was interesting.

An OK, but not exceptional tour, but should have got an extra day on the GO card. It would have been more beneficial and more cost effective.

This tour has been moved to another operator without notifying to me. Their program does not match with VIATOR program. We missed Santo Monica beach and Rodeo Drive stop - both are very unique landmarks. Viator should check with the customer and make changes. Also you need to provide better tour in case of changes and not provide a sub standard tour to the customers.

This was not a great choice. The sites viewed on this tour are just okay. Save your money...go hike the Hollywood Hills, go to the Observatory, take a taxi to Rodeo Drive and then one to the Chinese theater. The tour guide was nice but not that great...not compared to other viator tour guides I've used before. Spent most of the time sitting in traffic.

Bogdan C, Sep 2015
On the plus side, we had a relatively small group, about 12 people or so, which made it a more personal experience. We did get to see quite a few things around the town, however our guide was quite boring. He obviously did this tour a lot of times, but lacked the energy or interest in making it a memorable experience. Just enumerating the stores and hotels we are driving by? I can read their names by myself... This building is being renovated and turned into condos? I kinda of figured that out by myself, too. There's the Hollywood sign? For a 6 hours Grand Tour, I was expecting to get much closer to that. I wished he could have told us more interesting, insider stories. The tour guide and the selected itinerary makes or breaks a tour. Our experience was well bellow average.
