Visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed San Agustin Church, one of the country’s oldest churches, then walk on cobblestone paths get a closer look at the old walls, church ruins and other remains from the Spanish colonial era.

Your final stop takes in Fort Santiago, one of Manila's most important historical sites. Built by the Spanish in the late 1500s, the fort fell under the rule of successive colonial powers throughout the centuries. It is also the site of a notorious prison where Philippine national hero Dr Jose Rizal wrote his famous poem ‘My Last Farewell’ and was executed by the Spanish in 1896.

Great half day tour
Steven_G, May 2024
This is as very informative half day out in the old and new parts of town. It was our time in Manila and we didn’t really know too much about the history but we were in a much better position by the end of the morning. We were given the history and background to various places and then given free time to wander around. This is a really great half day tour.
Manilla in a snapshot

Hearing about and seeing the history of Manilla was very interesting our guide was very knowledgeable we were only in Manilla 2 days so it was a wonderful opportunity to see and learn a lot in a short time.
Solid overview, energetic staff

This was my second tour including Manila and my favorite so far. While both visited the actual Manila including the historic buildings, this one was more informative in terms of history and culture of Manila and the Philippines. It gives you a good overview and might be a good first step to Manila, to be followed up by museums etc later.
Highly recommended

RJ brought the history of the Philippines to life! His enthusiasm made the tour one of the highlights of my trip. Will definitely book a tour through Viator (and particularly RJ) again in the future.

Best experience!
Stephanie_F, Mar 2024
Absolutely enjoyed this tour! We accidentally booked a tour the day before that had some overlap with this tour, but we enjoyed this one significantly more. And we’re not exactly tourists either (we’re from the Philippines but have lived overseas for many years; we did this for fun). In 4 hours, we received loads of historical information about key Manila buildings, infrastructure, and politics. Guide was a perfect mix of funny and informative. Van was very comfortable. Would book again!
Omar the tour guide was the best on this city tour!
Alan_H, Mar 2024
Really enjoyed this tour due to one BIG reason: Omar the tour guide! He was the best. Informative, humorous, punctual, and just a real nice all around type guy. He had great commentary with an expansive depth of knowledge of the sites we went to. Mthabks, Omar!
Knowledgable Guide

Excellent City Tour

One of the best City Tours I've done. Excellent guide, brought Manila to life. Our visit to the American Cemetery was so moving.
Fun half day
Heather_V, Mar 2024
Nori and Manny did a great job! The tour was full of information, it was hard not getting out much, but we loved stopping at the market by the church for shopping and food. Nori dropped us off at The Mall of Asia to explore.
Very Informative Tour
Scott_S, Feb 2024
The tour was very good. Our guide had a lot of information to share at the sites and on the drive. The stops were good and there was just enough time to look around without overstaying the visit. There was an event which prevented the stop at the church so our guide effortlessly pivoted and used the time to walk us through the area. I would recommend the tour to friends and family if they visited Manila.
Great historical tour

Justin, Jan 2024
We did not get to the main areas of the tour due to road blocks. We were asked to walk the route instead. This is unacceptable. Not what we signed up for.
