What To Expect

Amazing trip with Adora! She was great at providing historical context, activities and even a photo challenge to keep us all engaged. Her communication was effective in both languages and was very accommodating. The driver didn’t stop or slow down for anything including speed bumps which kept us on schedule but made some of us in very back feel a little sick.

The trip was at 0600 .The bus /van was tightly packed and had little leg room
The tour guides did their best to keep all informed and entertained as it takes 3 hours each way.
Once we got to town it was a bit harder for guides to keep track of all.
The city walk was difficult due to the stones on streets

This colorful town is gorgeous with beautiful flowers and gardens all around. Also has amazing shopping for unique items. Just a few suggestions for our tour guide who was super sweet. Not sure how to spell her name. She took us through a walking tour giving a little history at each destination point which was great. Though she kept going back and forth from english to spanish for every sentence which was hard to follow. Recommend giving the whole speech in english or spanish first, then the other after. Also, she recommended great places to eat which was awesome. But given the limited time, recommend walking tourists to each one or pointing out exactly where they are to save time. Other than that, the tour was great!

The tour of San Miguel de Allende was amazing! However, the shuttle van that we were in had a broken A/C where it didn't reach the last 2 rows and most of the passengers were inconsiderate, where they didn't want to open the window for us to get air with our young kids. So, the 4 hour ride back was horrible. The tour guide apologized, but it wasn't his fault, as he tried. The biggest disappointment was the van itself where it wasn't inspected enough by the company to ensure all passengers had A/C. Therefore, the tour itself was fine, but the ride back brought the bad experience for us and don't think we'll ever use this company as we will choose a private transportation to ensure a good experience. Our kids didn't remember the tour, but the bad ride back. We forgot about the great tour as well. Unfortunately, the bad transportation out weighed the tour.

Johnny , our driver was great! Clean bus, very save driving.
Guide needs to learn how to manage group. It is simply not good allowing some people being not at time. To commercial and too touristy.

I took Amigo tours on a day trip from CDMX to San Miguel de Allende. I made a mistake and left my wallet in the van. This was a private tour. Once I realized what I did, I contacted the company. They refused to put me in contact with the guide. I had no way of communicating with the guide and the operator was not helping at all. They would not allow direct communication with the guide and they were not conveying the information about what was lost or where we were.I had an air tag on my wallet so I could it location. We spent two hours chasing it around until finally the operator told the guide where we were located. We spent 4 hours to get to San Miguel and two hours chasing the van to retrieve my wallet. This company’s inability to communicate correct information or let me do so ruined the entire day. I strongly recommend avoiding Amigo tours if you have to travel with them. I made the mistake of leaving my wallet but they could have resolved it immediately. Rather the entire day and a high price was wasted. The transportation was also very uncomfortable. Horrible experience

Beautiful and cozy place to visit. We actually thinking to cancel this tour as it is 4 hrs. Drive one way and we are happy we didn’t. We enjoyed walking around in a very colorful houses, churches and cozy street of San Miguel. Our guide Mario is very Nice and helpful. We really enjoyed the whole trip in spite of a long drive.

This is my second trip to San Miguel de Allende. I went agai as my friend hadn't been and I wanted her to experience it .
It's a beautiful place . Lovely streets with coloured houses and cobbled streets. We ate in a lovely restaurant and sipped a few margaritas. Then we went for a wander around the market which is excellent in size and sells everything. The silver jewelry is especially good .
We then just wandered around the town and chilled with ice cream in the square opposite the stunning pink marble church whilst mariachi bands played in the background. Our guide Alicia was a lovely person. Really sweet and friendly and informative.

I loved the trip to San Miguel - my only recommendation is the guide had hours of travel time to tell us about San Miguel and she did not do any info during the drive. It would have been good to do this so we did not have to spend an hour upon arrival hearing about it and waiting while she told it in two languages. I would have like more free time in San Miguel and some suggestions about where to walk. That said - its a magical destination and I want to go back for a week. Guide should have also strongly suggested going to one of the rooftop restaurants = as the views from them are like nothing else on earth.
