What To Expect

This Moab whitewater rafting tour begins in the middle of town, when you meet your professional whitewater guides at the central Moab office. From here, you’ll receive an intro and safety briefing and get loaded up in the van, which will shuttle you out to the Fisher Towers section of the Colorado River. With its soaring spires, vertical canyons and deeply red-hued rocks, this section of river feels blissfully remote, despite being so close to town.

Before boarding the raft for the splash-filled journey, get fitted with a lifejacket and listen as your guide explains the course of the river. Your guide will propel the raft by oars, so you can sit back and enjoy the scenic, sometimes bumpy, cruise. The rapids on this section are Class II-III and are the largest in early summer snow melts. If you choose to paddle an inflatable kayak instead of riding in the raft, your guide will provide a paddling lesson and make sure you can follow commands.

As you make your way down the Colorado River, keep your eyes peeled for birds and wildlife that can often be seen on the banks, and listen as your guide explains the history and geology of the rocky canyons. At the end of the journey, after splashing down the river or going for a swim, your trip ends with a short ride back to downtown Moab.

Had a great raft down the Colorado through NavTec tours. Warren was a great guide. The kid really knows his stuff! As knowledgable as he was about rafting I'll bet he knew even more about the geology and mythology of the area! A very entertaining and informative trip. Would highly recommend!

Disappointing day out.
Lauren_E, Apr 2024
The river guides were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the weather was against us, the wind was blowing around 45km/hr head on and it was freezing cold and we had to all paddle like crazy to help move the boat forward against the wind. The company's transport vehicle did not seen safe. It was really old and made lots of noises and the seat belts didn't work. The buffet lunch advertised turned out to be a small wrap and packet chips only. Overall it was not what we had hoped for.
Best Ever First River Raft Experience
Laree_T, Mar 2024
Andy our “chauffeur” was friendly up beat and on time. Josh was our guide and he was friendly. Made sure to include everyone that was on our raft. Josh was knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable and safe. Being the first time ever on a raft it was a wonderful experience. If I ever get a chance to go again I would ask for either of these two men to be our guide.
Easy ride on the colorado

It was a nice float on the colorado river. There was maybe a couple of class 1 sections, otherwise pretty tame Our guide was fun and jad many stories.
Overall great float!

Our guide, Warren, and all the staff were great! Nice and easy float that everyone in our party enjoyed. We will look forward to another trip in the future.
Awesome day!

Wyatt was our guide, very knowledgeable and entertaining. Laughed most the day I'd say. The ride to the boat launch was fun and so pretty. Had a nice homemade lunch while the guys got the raft in the water. The wind was blowing, we got rained on, and it was a great day! We jumped in the river, traded jokes, and had a blast.
Great Time!!

If you’re looking for high level rapids this isn’t the trip for you. Recommend it for those who want to see the landscape and Colorado river from the river perspective.
Not worth it
Nancy_M, Oct 2023
Trip was boring… I’ve done floats before, on the Snake River, same level2 rapids and it was great. This one was boring. Guide didn’t seem to know a lot and often we were just killing time floating to make it a longer trip. We were very disappointed and glad when it was over.
Relaxing afternoon in the canyon
karenallfive, Oct 2023
Lovely lunch & afternoon on the river & enjoyed being able to jump in & float along by the raft. The views all long the canyon were amazing & Lance (I believe his name was) did a good job navigating the boat under fairly strong winds - we appreciated his stories & driver songs! Perfect choice on a hot afternoon for relaxing in the canyon after days of hiking & biking in the Moab area.
Great guide

Nice gentle float down the Colorado due to water conditions. Warren was a great guide who provided clear instructions, informative on the area and history, with a fun sense of humor. And he had to work so hard rowing to get us downstream due to the calm water. He did his best to maximize the few class 2 “rapids”. The high rating is because of Warren, who represented this company well. An issue is that this trip is titled the Fishers Towers 1/2 day float. We were not near Fishers Towers, a reason we selected this trip. Viator or the rafting company should change the title as it was misleading.
We had an incredible day...

We had an incredible day on the river and our guide Mike was amazing! He made the day very exciting. Mike was very personable and knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor and made our day. We learned so much about the Moab environment. When we come back for our next adventure we will request Mike again! Thank you, Diana from Boston

Don’t waste your money
Victoria_B, Sep 2023
If this had been my first experience whitewater rafting I would never go again. Luckily I’ve had better experiences in Asheville and Yellowstone. From the start parking was a nightmare. When we finally got inside to check in, the girl at the front desk wasn’t friendly at all. She acted as if everyone there was an inconvenience to her and spent more time playing with the dog on the counter. The tour guides were ok, we’ve had others from previous experiences that we’re more engaging and knowledgeable about the terrain. Finally, the actual “whitewater rafting” experience was disappointing to say the least. I wouldn’t even call this tour whitewater rafting, more like a lazy river experience. We sadly over paid for an experience we wish ended 5 mins in. We spoke to several people after the tour and all of them felt the same way. If I can save anyone else the boredom and money wasted, I will feel that I did my part and less bad about the money I’ll never get back.
Not for thrill seekers
Rebecca_H, Sep 2023
To start off with, I LOVED our guide Paul, he was fantasric. however the photos on the booking are misleading, which is the reason for the 3 stars. My husband and I are pretty experienced when it comes to tubing rapids, and this was extremely lackluster. We were expecting alot more, and would not have booked this if we knew how slow and calm it would be. There was 3 sections of very calm "rapids". Nothing like in the booking photos. If you are looking for a thrill, don't book this. If you want 3 hours of dead silence and calmness, this is your jam. The views however were GORGEOUS!
River Raft Excursion

Cole was an excellent guide! He was very entertaining. The Rapids are pretty mild but there were a few splashes! Overall a great tour!
Entertaining /hairy
Robert_H, Sep 2023
Bridget was very entertaining - and made the atmosphere fun - on the downside the guy who drove the bus - was running late - he forgot the life vests so had to return then drove at 80 (eighty miles an hour) to get to the boat - unnecessary and dangerous
Wonderful

It was just beautiful trek on the river. Our two tour guides were super . I would do it again in a heart beat
The guide was interesting...
byron_j, Sep 2023
The guide was interesting and entertaining. The water was low , so the rapids weren’t very challenging. It was still a pretty float and the guide did what he could to make it fun.
Nicer with higher water
Randall_A, Sep 2023

We had a memorable trip with Mike down the Colorado. He was a good guide and personable. Made the slower river trip at this point good. Warren as driver was great to visit with enroute too!
