Roam over the sandstone domes and slickrock ledges of Hell's Revenge near Moab on this off-road adventure by utility terrain vehicle. What To Expect

Meet your guide in the morning, afternoon or about two hours before sunset, and prepare to traverse the slickrock terrain of Hell's Revenge near central Moab on this off-roading 4x4 adventure.

After a safety briefing, slip behind the wheel (or join as a passenger) in your 4-seater Kawasaki Teryx 4, a UTV. Follow in a caravan to the Hell's Revenge Trail, located just 10 minutes from Moab. Aptly named, this roller-coaster route includes steep inclines such as Devil’s Backbone. You’ll traverse the ridge before you descend into Lake Michigan, named for the water that collects in a low point in the narrow canyon.

Stop near Lion’s Back to find fossilized dinosaur tracks before continuing on to Echo Canyon, which boasts panoramic views of towering sandstone cliffs above an oasis of cottonwood and willow trees.

Glimpse the La Sal Mountains and cast your gaze over Abyss Canyon; then, motor off-road to an overlook above the green ribbon of the Colorado River—a view enhanced by the sunset (if option selected)—before your tour ends back in Moab.

All drivers must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license
Not wheelchair accessible
For safety reasons it is important that you have drivers and passengers that do not get spooked too easily. We take it slow and easy, but the trail does have terrain with steep up and down slopes and some cliffs.
Comfortable, closed-toed shoes are required for safety; no flip flops allowed
Each vehicle fits up to 4 passengers; 2 people minimum per vehicle
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
Sunset tour departs approximately 2 hours before sunset (roughly 5pm); call the day before the tour for exact departure time (contact info will be listed on your voucher)

Please note that this is a U-drive experience which means the customer does the driving.

No heart problems or other serious medical conditions

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Danny was our guide and he was amazing! He took us to beautiful places while on a roller coaster! It was thrilling and educational. He’s very well versed in the history of the area and has explored it personally. We highly recommend the trip and Danny! It was worth every penny.

Amazing Hell's Revenge self driving 4x4 tour.

This was amazing. I am 71 and my girlfriend is 70 and we both had a blast. Not too scary like we thought it might be and way more fun than we had expected. One of the few tours we've done that we would repeat. Our guide was great.

Our guide was Carter and he was training Michael about the tour. We had an awesome time trekking out to Hell's Revenge. It was a hot day with hardly any clouds and the tour company provided cold bottled water which was appreciated. I also appreciated that we had rescheduled our tour from the day prior due to a mix up (on my part) on the starting time. It was super that the company called to check in with us when we didn't show up on time. Anyways, we basically had a private tour as nobody else signed up for the time. Again it was so awesome going up and down the slick rock at Hell's Revenge and then around through the sandy places too. My boyfriend drove and he loved it!!!! Brought back memories of racing motorbikes and cars. I am so glad we did this tour. A huge thank you to Carter for leading a great tour and also telling us about the surrounding areas when we stopped to look around the area. A personal thank you to Mike for being kind to me and making certain I got in and out the of 4x4 ok each time. A real gentleman. I can't say it enough but it was an awesome tour. I wasn't comfortable enough to drive the 4x4. I was comfortable being a passenger and taking lots of photos (which I haven't downloaded off my camera yet)! Moab and the Hell's Revenge area are truly beautiful. Our tour was in the afternoon and we encountered several other groups enjoying their day too. A million thanks!

Off roading was something we had never done before. But thanks to our great guide Jeff Godwin, who explained the vehicle and how and where we were going, we had a fabulous time. The terrain was challenging but fun, the views spectacular and the tour worth every penny. I highly recommend it!

Driving up the steep parts and over the boulders was so much fun, we also stopped to watch the dare devils (not our group) that were trying to get up a very challenging part, some made it, some did not... really entertaining. Fantastic tour for your money.

It took a minute for my brain to understand that the side by side could crawl up and down the rocks at the extreme angles. After that it was a scenic drive of follow the leader. Sunset was a great time to go because it added to the experience. Our guide Carter was very knowledgeable about the activity, the vehicles, good places to eat in town, and the parks. This activity opened my eyes to an entirely new world. If you are not afraid of heights then you will love this experience.

Carter was an incredible guide and photographer. He instilled confidence and safety in our group. The terrain was incredible and the sunset was stellar. Enough eyebrow raising climbs and descents to be fun and exciting! Our group had younger kids to college age to srs. All enjoyed it thoroughly. We can’t recommend this enough. Get Carter!
