Fantastic experience

Amazing experience, Tom was a knowledgeable and fun tour guide, taking us to places outside the yourist path and sharing interesting stories about the geography, wildlife and history. Riding in the yellow open-air Hummer through the picturesque Josuha Tree park with music from U2's The Joshua Tree album was an unforgettable experience.

Had my tour booked and took a 40 minute uber to the meeting point at the welcome centre. Was about 50 minutes early so looked in the welcome centre. I sat outside as the tour group came back from the earlier tour. I was chatting to one of the ladies who came back asking how it was saying I was about to go on my tour. One of the tour guys asked me if I was waiting for something and I said the 1.30 session. He said he didn't know if there was another session so at this point I thought maybe there was a different car and tour guide swapping over. The other tour guy had gone to refuel but I thought maybe it was for my trip. 30 mins goes by and I start to worry as no car has come back. I tried calling but the line was busy. The lovely women at the Welcome Centre tried for ages to help me. When they finally got hold of someone it turned out they cancelled my trip and had not notified me. Apparently they tried calling but my phone had no messages and was working. Worse yet, they did not email or cancel through viator, where I had booked. I had to wait hours to be able to get hold of an uber after even trying to call car transfer companies. I was stuck there for 3 hrs. Another 40 minute uber back luckily only because the uber driver dropped someone off from the airport or I might have been stranded for longer. A whole day of my holiday wasted and with expenses for nothing. I was right there and they didn't say to my face it was cancelled? The ladies at the Welcome Centre were very shocked. It took me requesting a refund for them to even assist. If I hadn't they probably would have kept the money.

Changes to the schedule might occur due to weather or other issues. We are sorry you took an Uber before checking for our multiple notifications to you. We signed up for the Hummer tour and due to vehicle problems we were placed in a van instead and it was completely fine. Actually more than fine. We would have been freezing if we took the Hummer. The tour was amazing. The guide (Eddie) was great and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Joshua Tree. So glad we took the tour.

Are brand new van is totally amazing! It's especially nice to note that we use the van when it gets a little chilly and it is exactly the same tour just a little bit more comfortable when it's either too hot or too cold.

Hummer Trip to Joshua Tree

Tom was an excellent guide. He had the trip planned perfectly and took us off the main path a couple times to show us some less crowded, but spectacular viewpoints. He patiently took many photos of my husband and I in numerous locations, at every angle and distance. He had awesome music and was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the history, and gave suggestions for other places to visit. He provided blankets, jackets, snacks, and water. The tour was definitely worth the money if you are a first time visitor to Joshua Tree.

Stunning way to see Joshua Tree

Open Hummer Adventure in Joshua Tree National Park

Our amazing guide, Bob, did a great job personalizing our experience. He called each of us ahead of the pickup time to make sure we brought coats. Thank goodness, since the open Hummer ride was windy and cold! He even gave great information on the hour-long ride from town to Joshua Tree. He was very knowledgeable about the plant life, terrain, and history of the area. We loved the Hummer ride, hiking the Hidden Valley Trail and climbing the high rock.

What an unforgettable 1/2 day adventure in Joshua Tree National Park. Our tour guides were excellent; relaxed and knowledgeable about the ever changing environments found at different elevations. Dress warmly if you try this. We loved our experience but both my husband and I believe it was a bit pricey compared to other tours we’ve taken.

Great tour guide and tour, beware of minimum tour signups

Our guide Denise was amazing. So knowledgeable about the area and local flora and fauna, personable, and funny. Drive was smooth and safe. Pick-up instructions were clear, at least from Palm Desert, and was picked up on time. I went solo and the group make up was 3 solo travelers and one couple. This is a tour where a solo traveler will feel comfortable. I will say though, like with any non-guaranteed departure tour service (of which this is one), be wary that your tour group may not be big enough to get the exact tour vehicle you’d like or even go at all. My tour group was only 2 people 2 days before the tour, and you need 4 minimum to go. The scheduling coordinator was very communicative though in letting me know this information and keeping me updated, though I would’ve liked some more heads up being I booked an extra day here just for this tour, but I understand being it’s rolling sign-ups. They do ask if you and other people if they can move days to make it work though which I appreciate. All that being said, I wasn’t able to do the open-air hummer experience, and had to settle for the closed air hummer which was a bummer, but I still enjoyed it as my fellow tour group would swap seats around so everyone got a good view. All and all, great tour and recommend for anyone visiting the Palm Springs area and wants to see Joshua Tree!

Knowledgeable guide. Learned so much about the flora , fauna, geology. There is water provided but bring extra if it’s a hot day. Wear sturdy shoes, no flip flops. Lots of photo ops too so be prepared!
