What To Expect

Why ride when you can glide? Riding on a Segway isn’t rocket science, but it’s important to know how to maneuver one, especially gliding around a large metropolitan area like downtown Philly. So this tour begins with a brief but thorough training session to make sure everyone feels comfortable and knowledgeable about their Segway. Additionally, all passengers must weight between 99 and 300lbs (44 and 136kg) to participate.

With the training out of the way, it’s time to hit the open road. If you have opted for the shorter Segway tour around Philadelphia, cruise a loop from the Historic District and Penn’s Landing to the Delaware River and South Street neighborhoods. Check out over 15 attractions, like the historic First Bank of the United States, the 9th Street Italian Market — the oldest and largest outdoor market in the United States — the folk art environs of the Magic Gardens and the various churches attended by William Penn, where the Quaker leader (who fought against religious oppression) practised what he preached.

On the longer Segway tour option, continue along the loop, passing by Elfreth's Alley, America's oldest continuously inhabited residential street, and the Betsy Ross House, believed to be the very site where the the first American Flag was sewn. Glide by Independence Hall, birthplace of the U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and the magnificent homes of Society Hill.

Continue on to the Avenue of the Arts, Rittenhouse Square and Fitler Square before traveling along the Schuylkill River to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the famous stairs from the movie Rocky. Finally, it’s off to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and the Rodin Museum before winding through some of the city’s back streets, en route to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Chinatown, where the tour comes to an end.

Fun Tour
Ronnie_W, Nov 2023
'Sarge' was a good guide and provided an entertaining tour, though it was a bit fast paced and didn't allow for many questions. Good way to see many of the city highlights without having to deal much with traffic.
It was a very pleasant...
Carole_C, Nov 2023
It was a very pleasant experience to visit Philadelphia by segway. Sarge started to explain us exactly how to use the segway and after that, we did a tour in whole the town. Sarge explained all about what we saw and took many pictures for us. Wonderful experience
Fun time

An urban adventure
Martin_N, Oct 2023
I did the Segway Tour on a Thursday. I LOVED it. I only had 1 day in my itinerary to explore Philadelphia as I was on a business trip. This tour allowed me to visit multiple tourist attractions within 2 hours. On top of that, it was a thrilling to dodge parked vehicles on the bike lane and switching back and forth from bike lane, to sidewalk, and then to the road. Sounds dangerous, but the tour guide (Sorry I've forgotten the game) always made sure it was safe to do these things. Overall, I would recommend everyone to do so, but these are the things to consider: 1) How hard it is to ride a Segway? It was my first time riding a Segway. But if you are a snowboarder like me, you will find a lot of similarities between the two. So, I would say it took me 10 or so minutes to feel pretty in control and maybe half an hour to feel completely in control. 2) It may look pretty effortless, but it was pretty tiring as you would be standing the whole time. 3) You will be travelling on various surfaces (road, sidewalk, walking trail, bike lanes) with various obstacles (pedestrians, parked cars, cars, etc). Be prepared!
Great intro to Philly!!

Sarge commanded our attention
Alan_A, Oct 2023
Sarge did a great job of showing us the town. His knowledge and passion from Philly was excellent and he does a great job of teaching us as we made our way around the city. We had a blast and the Segway's just made it better.
Fun exploring Philly with CC
Albert_D, Oct 2023
Travel guide, CC, was great, fun and informative. Loved the ear baby SS in order to hear clearly. Took two trips on two separate days. One was two hours and one was one hour but both were actually longer than stated. We saw different places on both days. We felt very safe the whole time and had a lot of fun exploring Philly. Highly recommend!
Our guide talked about...
Patrick_S, Oct 2023
Our guide talked about non stop himself and his personal experiences ruining the experiences and very little about the history and sights
Fabulous Tour
Louise_J, Oct 2023
CeCe, our guide, did an amazing job! The tour included a safety briefing and some training on the Segways. As first time riders we were soon able to get confident on the machines. CeCe then brought us on a fabulous 2 hour spin round Philly’s top tourist attractions and also took plenty of photos of us on our phones so we could record our tour. I would highly recommend this to other visitors to the city!

Barbara_W, Sep 2023
Riding an Segway was so much fun! I am not coordinated or athletic so wasn’t sure if I would be capable of it, but it was easy and fun. Our leader, D, was fantastic! He was very personable and took good care of us as we rode through the streets of Philadelphia. He was constantly communicating with us during the ride to ensure we knew the sights we were passing but more importantly, to keep us safe. Highly recommend!
Ask for CC!!
Rene_S, Sep 2023
CC is a great guide - very informative and loadsa fun! Travelling by Segway is an amazing way to see a city. We saw so much of Philadelphia - a whole lot more than if we’d been on foot. After a few minutes we were all whizzing along as if we’d been doing it for years. Even the heavy Philly rain couldn’t dampen our superb experience! Highly recommended : )
WOW great time with CeCe and riding a Segway in Philly

We had a great time on this tour with our Guide CeCe. She took us through the practices of using the Segways and was an amazing guide. Full of interesting facts about the city, helpful and knowledgeable about the activities going on during our stay. I would recommend this tour to our friends and anyone wishing to see Philadelphia from a different viewpoint and an interesting way of travelling to the sights.
