Most of the time is spent in the car (apart from the boat to Chau Doc). The advertised itinerary does not fit to the actual one. And the tour guide's English was limited unfortunately. It is not worth the money, rather take a bus to Ho Chi Minh City and do one of the Mekong day trips from there.
Never book a tour operated by Bravo Indochina Tours
Moritz_W, Oct 2023
This operator is the worst I ever experienced: Communication per WhatsApp, very pushy and harsh in tone, sometimes even aggressive. Very unpleasant, especially on a holiday in a country you have never been to. The tour began with a rip-off: Pick up from the hotel to the pier, 4 minutes drive in a small car, 20 $ extra (more expensive than in Switzerland) - local price would have been 3 $, as they told us in the hotel before we left. Then: It‘s actually a 2 day private tour, the first day from Phnom Penh to Chau Doc you are on your own in a big boat without guide (you better book this part on your own). Accomodation in Victoria Hotels (luxury version) was very good, but we were a group of three adults and the operator wanted us to sleep in one room with extra bed… Two rooms only if we paid 100 $ extra, and after 10 minutes of unfriendly text-messaging). Most of the time you spend in the car (ca. 5 hours on the first, 4.5 on the second day). Not very much nature of the Mekong-Delta is shown, hardly any animals to be seen. No rowing on the waters like on the tour-advertising-picture f.e., that would be on extra cost too and no time for that. The only nature-experience of the tour is in a public and very touristic nature parc, mostly eucalyptus trees, not a real jungle, as said. The tour guide was very friendly though. So: better book the boat and hotels yourself and it‘s possible to book transfers and tours there. For sure it’s much better than with Bravo Indochina Tours!
A colorful and amazing experience

The tour is rich in experiences, you’ll see and feel the Mekong, walk about among rice paddies and forests, sail in floating markets. My guide Tony was super helpful and funny, “telling me a story”, same, same but different :). Its hassle free and for your money you get the exciting boat trip, good hotels, tasty local food (try that its worth it), market and town tours, private car, and your guide. Small hiccups at departure in Phnom Phen but if you like perfect schedules don’t come to SE Asia 🤣.

My dear fellow travelers I've just arrived in Ho Chi Minh after a privat 3-day Mekong Delta tour. I have to say very clearly that I am disappointed about the whole experience. I am disappointed for the following reasons. Negative: - There was no plan, time table or anything that would give me some information about the whole trip. I was picked up at the hotel and that was it. I had to ask the people there about my ship and all... - I've tried to reach the tour organization because I've changed my pick-up-location. I wrote several emails and I had to wait for 4 days for any answer. - I think the price-value relation was really poor. They sell the whole trip as a 3-day tour. Sorry to say that but the first day was the normal ship cruise you can book in PP for 25 dollars. The picked me up around 5:30 pm, brought me to the hotel, we had dinner afterwards. That was day one . That is really not much private activity if you ask me. Day two was okay. But then day 3 started at 6 am and we were back at the hotel at 10 pm. The driver brought me to Ho Chi Minh and that was day 3!!! Come on guys. I don't like to use the word scam but it goes in that direction, I am afraid... - The dinner on the second day wasn't included! I know, you can eat very cheaply in Vietnam for European standards. But when I pay 600 bugs I really think the dinner should be included... - The driver could't speak English at all. As long as I was with the Vietnamese guide, that was not a problem. But on my way to Ho Chi Minh City we stopped for lunch. The driver was somehow pissed and pushed the whole time hurry. Positiv: - The guide was really sweet and really tried to give me a better feeling about the whole trip - The hotels were nice compared to back packe standards... - The program on the second day was great. I have to point out that I am always organizing everything on my laptop during my travels or directly at the booking agencies. I really thought this trip would be something special but after 2 days only day 2 was a whole day I have to say that it wasn't worth the money. Everything could be organized by myself for - lets say - 150 bugs. The prices for the means of transportation are so low and I think a 4 star hotel room is not really necessary. So I would recommend this trip to people that have much money, no time or talent for organizing and do need a 4 star hotel room. For the rest: you can do a personal trip with a private guide for much less money...

The tour itself was a 4/5. Positives - our tour guide was great, interesting activities, the Victoria hotels were amazing, took us to hotel in hchm. Negatives (2/4) not enough information before given VIATOR get your act together, tour didn't start until after midday on first day so very rushed.

There are some nice things about the tour, but we felt it was 1 day too long and definetely we felt we overpaid for what it was worth it. There was too much time spent in transfer, lack of information, we didn't get the option for the morning boat to Vietnam so we lost the first day.

Not sure where to even begin on how to rate this trip.. knowing what we know now..,I would have never booked 'the tour'.. I've come to learn Viator is really just a middle man taking a cut . Not one of our guides works for them. The guides were contacted by a 2nd or 3rd party off of trip advisor and had no knowledge of Viator. The 'guides' are all freelance and get a call/job from the 2nd party based on bid.So your not getting a Viator travel guide your getting a local guy with a vehicle who takes you to a few places that he gets some benefits from if you buy there stuff.along with his bid price and guilts you into a good tip because 'he's so poor' or has a daughter in the hospital etc etc .you get the picture. The country is beautiful but beyond the major cities not much to see or at least we didn't see much. Our understanding of the tour was supposed to be boat travel and village/community visits . Instead we traveled for hours in someone's vehicle our guide borrowed.,Just to spend 20 minutes at a temple. For what we received out of the 1029.00 could have been had for half the price had we done a little homework . Unfortunately you don't know ,what you don't know.

Fantastic tour. We were a party of 6 and opted for the luxury hotels which both exceeded expectations. The only hiccup was that the local powerboat company showed up 4 hours early in Phnom Penh and this led to a rushed start. After the boat ride we met the tour guide in Vietnam and the real tour began. Everything was well planned and went smoothly. Vietnam is a beautiful country and the local people are extremely friendly. This tour is highly recommended.

Our guide Tun was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was also patient and always read to extend assistance to our needs. The view at the bird sanctuary was extremely beautiful and tranquil. The floating market was an experience too, where we get to eat the various fruits and even noodle soup. We purchased the deluxe accommodation and it was worth the value. The only upsetting incident was on the first day in Phnom Penh, where the agent asked us to get our own Tuk Tuk and find our way to the harbor, after he couldn't find us in the hotel. Even though he paid the Tuk Tuk fees, we were expecting to be picked up by a vehicle.

Our guide picked us up after we crossed the border after a nice speedboat-cruise from Cambodia. We immediately got a good feeling from the guide and the driver. They took us to eat at a local restaurant, then some temples and markets. Really nice evening with the locals. Beautiful hotel for the overnight stay, on Nui Sam mountain overlooking the rice fields! Next day, we had more boat safaries, visiting fish/crocodile farms, bird sanctuary, local tribes and more delicious food. Super nice accommodation in Can Tho, overlooking the city! 5 stars!! Went to floating market, noodle-factory and a snake farm!optional

The trip was not to our expectations. The guide did not have enough insight and were not assertive. We got too little information about where we were going, and homestay stay should have been informed earlier It was not 3-stars which we had booked - we had not chosen such an option if we knew what this was.

A fantastic tour! Even though we started in a bad way the company and the tour guide did its best to make it the best trip possible. I would like to thank my tour guide N.T. and San for making this trip a memorable one. Mr. Toni also did his best to surprise us on our anniversary day which made it more special. A 5 star for this company and would likely to recommend this to other people.

This tour was excellent. it provided us with a memorable experience of life on the Mekong Delta. Hotels chosen for us were excellent and the tour guide was amazing and spoke fantastic english. As there were only two of us the price was high, however the experiences provided made it worth it!!
