I would highly recommend this private tour! Our tour guide was Vasco, who was very friendly, easy to talk to, knowledgeable about the area (its businesses and people and culture), and a highly skilled driver (off-road as well)! The boat sailing, the private lunch, the private tour of the Favaios Wine Factory, the off-roading, and the various viewpoints — were all well-planned activities that filled our day with uncountable memories!

I would highly recommend this private tour! Our tour guide was Vasco, who was very friendly, easy to talk to, knowledgeable about the area (its businesses and people and culture), and a highly skilled driver (off-road as well)! The boat sailing, the private lunch, the private tour of the Favaios Wine Factory, the off-roading, and the various viewpoints — were all well-planned activities that filled our day with uncountable memories!

We had a wonderful time. The off-road provided us with a unique experience. The meal provided us with an opportunity to try a local traditional Portuguese meal. Our guide was absolutely fantastic

This was such an amazing experience! Nunno was knowledgable and incredibly informative and entertaining. From cafe pastries to Portuguese specialties at lunch to a winery tour and tasting, we experienced the best of the Douro Valley. Off-roading through the vineyards was so fun and we learned so much along the way. Honestly an amazing adventure that we would highly recommend!

We had a fantastic tour with the best guide, Vasco! He showed us his favourite viewpoints of the area, in addition to stopping at the scheduled places. We had an amazing lunch, prepared in the traditional style, over an open grill. The tour was the highlight of our trip to Portugal!

Truly, A One of a Kind Experience

Vasco was an amazing guide. There is no better way to experience wine country in the Douro Valley. We enjoyed spending time in a river cruise getting to know Vasco. After which, the real fun started with a climb out of the valley and on to the plateau. There were toured some small villages and had an amazing lunch with a local family. We toured a cooperative winery, stopped at some amazing vistas, and made it back in time for our train ride back to Porto.

Wonderful full day tour of the Douro - 4x4 adventure

Fantastic experience touring the Douro. The focus is on the history of the region, seeing as much of the valley as you can in a day. There is a brief stop at a lovely Moscatel producer where you learn about production and try two varietals. The lunch stop was wonderful and Vasco is fantastic.

Nuno was an excellent guide, full of knowledge that he is eager to share. We took a private tour (one couple) that was diverse and interesting: wine tasting (and winery explanations), reaching hidden spots off the beaten track, tasty lunch at a local eatery and a short boat trip. Highly recommended!

Nuno meet us at the Quinta we were staying at and took us on a wonderful trip for the day. We visited many vineyard via 4x4. He also drove us to a small Quinta with wine and Olive oil production. He also brought us to a co op that produces Favaios and Moscatel. We where brought to a good restaurant in Tua, that had beautiful views of the Douro. His information of history and culture was full of pride. This was one of the highlights of our stay in the Douro. We would recommend Grapeland.
