It was a great day, few...
    Jamie_F, Apr 2024
It was a great day, few issues at the beginning where they didn't arrive to pick us up on time but paid for a taxi for us to resolve this. Once on the bus Hector and the team were brilliant spoke multiple languages and English was spot on. Took us to a place where we got a blessing from a mayan man if this happens to you be careful as they try and sell you a rock for 800 dollars, so started a bit awkwardly but after lunch they took us to chichen itza it was a very hot day we done an hour with a guide and had an hour free time for photos etc and was very informative. After feeling very hot and bothered we then went to a beautiful Cenote where we were able to cool off for an hour and then into a small town which was nice to visit for a short period. The day lasted approximately 13 hours but the tour guides really made this trip brilliant so thank you.

This was an amazing experience. It was worth our time and money!! The tour bus drivers were very knowledgeable, fun and nice! I would highly recommend it!
    Best tour at our vacation
    Stefan_K, Apr 2024
A really great tour, and a totally must when in Mexico. We booked the tour 10.30pm for the next day. After a few minutes I got a Whatsup message from the company! Extremely professional. The tour was great and the guide was assume. The lunch was good, very "tourist-isch" the cenote was really cool but Chichen Itza was just awesome "Unfortunately" it was really hot that day, so we spent all of our cash on drinks at Chichen Itza, so we couldn't give the guides any tip. Apologise for that. Very worth the money
Great sites but took to long to get there and back
    Jason_K, Apr 2024
Pros We really liked the sites on the tour. The small little farm with buffet was a fun place to see their culture. Chichén Itzá is just amazing!!! The cenote was awesome and the town was really cool. Our bus was really nice and comfortable. Cons: It took us about 4 hours there and another 4 back because of all the stops we had to make. Also just to know, for the lunch you will have to purchase drinks because they don’t even allow you to have your own water. Also they will push you to get their merchandise and it is way over priced. We didn’t have enough time at the cenote and the little town. Overall we had a good time but if I were to do it again I would try and get a private or small group tour.

Playa del Carmen is a 2.25h drive from Chichen Itza. It took us 6 hours. First we drove in a perpendicular direction to pick up lots of other people and 2hrs later we were still 2.25hrs from Chichen Itza. But still we didn’t go there. After we picked up all the other passengers we were taken to a tourist trap. When we got there we saw a ceremony by a shamen, after which 5 people were taken into a tent and then asked to buy a 'gift‘ for €200. Next we had to wait in a shop before going to lunch, but on the way to lunch we were taken into another shop, where we were unable to leave to go lunch on account of a locked door. Next we had a disappointing lunch that was heavily weighted towards tipping the staff. It was just a massive trap. We finally arrived at Chichen Itza 6h later and then the day got better. Chichen Itza was great. Great guide. Next we went to a cenote which was fab and the town which was great. But it was all waaaaaay too long sitting on a coach. We spent 7.5h on the coach altogether for a 4.5h return trip, The highlight of the the tour where the places, the worst part was the tour itself. You are better off hiring a car or getting a taxi to avoid the ridiculous tourist trap part. The organisers said it was a 12h trip but it was 14h. We left Playa del Carmen at 8am and got back at 10pm. The guide didn’t seem to enjoy his job. He just talked at us in very fast Spanish and English and it was so fast it was hard to know where the English or Spanish ended or began. He was very dispassionate and lectured us on gratitude. I would not do it again or recommend it. I think they should have been more transparent about the journey there. It has become a funny travel story, just how bad the day was.

Best Tour with true hospitality !!
    SANBANSAL, Mar 2024
We had an absolutely flawless experience with our tour. The Tour guide was fluent in English and very engaging through the trip. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed our trip. The bus was also good, and we were picked up the tour operator as promised at our resorts Dreams Jade, Peuto Morelo. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who is looking to be picked at locations which are outside the Cancun hotel zone.

    Sales bus

This tour may be the cheapest online tour for Chichén Itza, however, be aware of all the hidden costs and extra time this means! At the Playa meeting point you are organized into groups and put onto different busses, when you are then charged the entry fee (38USD each - we brought pesos but were charged an awful exchange rate). Then, the bus journey takes 3.5hrs each way due to multiple stops collecting other passengers from their hotels. After Tulum, the tour guide constantly talks loudly on a microphone in a confusing combination of Spanish and English, he gave us some local facts along with trying to upsell extra items to sell - bug spray (not needed), sunscreen, beer, water etc. We got 20 minutes to explore Valloid(?), then an hour total at the Cenote (where you have to pay for life jackets and lockers). Then the worst part of the day - an extra long lunch break - bring snacks for the morning as you don’t eat until 2pm (3pm Playa time). Yes, the food on this tour is included but there are opportunities to buy items at every step - posters, necklaces, obsidian that’s been ‘blessed’, tips for photos, drinks (not allowed to take your own into lunch). It was already after 3pm by the time we reached Chichen Itza (where you are then told to pay to rent an umbrella), which was incredible and definitely worth visiting. We eventually got back to Playa del Carmen at about 2130 (after of course being asked for many tips). The tour is fine for the price, however we would definitely not recommend. Better to spend a little extra and have a nicer experience where you aren’t expected to pay extra at every stop.

Hello, thank you for your review, it helps us grow, we would just like to clarify that you can see all the costs before booking, and you can also see them on your VIATOR ticket. We will contact you to have better details of your experience and improve where we can, thank you for your opinion.
Buyer Beware, Extra Fees and Price Gouging
    Tiffany_W, Mar 2024
Was charged an additional $38 when I got on the bus, which was supposedly for a separate ticket to Chichen Itza. Why wasn't this charged ahead of time?!!! Additionally, I was overcharged for souvenirs. Wait and buy them from the vendors outside Chichen Itza. You can negotiate. You can't at the gift shop we were forced to visit before arriving at Chichen Itza. Bring your own bug repellent, sunblock and ice water. It was super hot and I paid $12 for bug repellent on the bus although it did a great job only one superficial bite when I normally get attacked by bugs. Also, the driver and tour guide Hector were great! Gave them a really nice tip. I would again just avoid getting souvenirs from the giftshop and be mindful of extra entrance fees after you purchase this excursion on Viator.
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
Hello, Tiffany, I personally assisted you to help you with the problem of the price and the souvenirs that you had bought had been in a private store in Valladolid that had nothing to do with our company or tour. Do you remember? The 38usd that she had to pay is clarified in the tour and we also informed the passengers the day before. We are very sorry for her experience and will work to try to avoid unfinished business like this. We remain attentive to you for whatever you need.
If you have kids, avoid this trip
    Qian_T, Mar 2024
If you have kids, avoid this trip. They will charge you the same 38 dollars as adult even the Chichén Itzá is free for your kid
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
Hello! We are sorry for your bad experience, when you book you can see which age is free, from which age you pay as children and from which as adults, also the day before we sent you the details of your reservation, obviously we regret your bad experience and we will try to improve communication.
Fun, but lots of hidden costs
    Ciaran_C, Mar 2024
There’s a reason it’s the cheapest tour on the website….. not necessarily an issue but prepare to pay up for a bunch of little things. $40 for chichen itza admission, $5+ for chichen itza tour guide tip, $10+ for bus driver/staff tip, $5+ per drink at the buffet lunch (you can’t bring in water), $20+ for biodegradable sunscreen/bug spray……..it adds up quick That being said, it was super convenient to be picked up directly from playa del Carmen and shuttled around all day. I enjoyed it but I wish I knew ahead of time about all the extra costs.
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
Hello! We are sorry for the misunderstanding, we take your suggestion, but just to clarify, the costs vary depending on CLASICO, PLUS OR PREMIER. and in each one you will be able to see the details of what is included and what is not, there are also optional expenses and the day before we sent suggestions on what they can bring. Likewise, we will closely follow your observation and work to be clearer. Thank you very much for your review, it helps us a lot.
    Really worth to do it!
    Marianna_C, Mar 2024
A bit disorganized and late during the pickup in Cancun, but the trip was amazing (maya village, chichen Itza, cenote and Valladolid)! Full of stories about the ancient cultur of Maya and professional guides. Also little rewards during the bus trip! Nice! It could last a bit more, but appreciated the overall!
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
We are glad that you enjoyed the tour, we will answer your questions and obviously we are at your disposal if you need anything.
Perfectly organized, fun and absolutely worth it!
    AnnaLena_Z, Mar 2024
This tour was just beyond special! 😊 We booked it on the evening before and everything was beautifully planned. We could ask all our questions and the tour guides on the bus taught us about the mayan culture and even about the language. We felt absolute safe and pampered and had so much fun during the day. It was well organized and we had enough time to enjoy the different stops. The guides made sure everyone was taken care of and even gave us tips about where to take pictures. We even had an English tour guide at chichén itzá which helped a lot with understanding this magical place. All in all a great tour that I can fully recommend and would participate in again any time. Thank you for everything! ❤️

    Tourist trap. Avoid!
    Fran_G, Mar 2024
Very bad tour. More than a cultural trip it is a bus that takes you to Chichén Itzá where they try to sell you as many things as possible. Some notes about the tour: - our departure time changed from the one we booked via Viator. The day before the tour they sent the info for the day. It had a new time in it but there was no explicit mention to the time being changed, so keep an eye out. - The tour passed by Tulum to pick up people. The ride to the first stop was almost 3 hours and we didn't get any info until them. Nobody explained the plan for the day until a couple of hours on the bus. - The full trip is an ongoing sales pitch. Even the cultural explanations are followed by an option to buy: necklaces, drinks, astrological chart, coffee, sunscreen, bug repellent... - and the sun screen and repellent they push you to buy must be the "biodegradable" ones they sell because the main brands are not (which is a lie). They are allegedly mandatory to swim in the cenote. They even lie that to get into the cenote they might go through your bags to see if you have the right ones. But all that is just false, as when you get to the cenote you have to take a shower before getting in to remove any chemicals in your body. That was low. - the stop in Valladolid is not a touristic stop. We only stopped 25 minutes at a local shop of their convenience. In summary, avoid it if you want to have a nice experience
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
Hello Fran, I was looking for you among our previous passengers and I did not find you among them, in the same way I wanted to tell you that the day before the experience we sent suggestions where we warned that they may arrive, surely you could not see that, we also put the estimated times in the destinations and in Valladolid is actually 30 minutes, we would like to chat with you to have a better detail of your experience and to be able to improve where we can, thank you very much, we remain at your disposal for whatever you need.

    Poor guide
    Keisa_H, Mar 2024
Places we visited was beautiful! However the guide was rude and very unprofessional. She didn't speak English as this was supposed to be a English guided tour. This made things very frustrating on our part. Guide slept most of the time if she wasn't eating. I would never do this tour again.
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thank you for your observation, we will continue working to try to improve every day and without a doubt we will respond to your complaint urgently.
Amazing if you ignore the souvenir hurdles
    Ellis_B, Mar 2024
Chichén Itzá, cenote and Valladolid were brilliant, would be 5 stars if not for the various souvenir hurdles you go through before getting lunch. Lunch was ok as a vegan, ok options on the buffet. Be aware it is a long transfer from Playa (c2.5 hours on the bus each way).

    Great tour
    Sreevatsa_N, Mar 2024
We especially loved our tour guide, Jorge. He was a blast to have and was extremely knowledgeable. One complaint is that it was much longer than expected, as it ended around 9-10pm, a little more than the 12hrs specified.

Thank you for your review, we will continue working to improve every day.
    Don’t waste your time/money!
    Mariia_O, Feb 2024
The tour is cheap but terrible. The guides are always trying to put you in a position so that you buy something. Before the tour they sent a message with instructions and a packing list. The only thing that was not present was the repellent. Guess what? they then sold it on the bus. Drinks are not included at lunch and they won't even allow you to bring regular water to lunch in order to force you to buy something. At every step they take a “free” photo with you, but ask for a certain amount of tip. They stupidly take people shopping. The Mayan “village” was terrible. no culture. just an attempt to sell stupid souvenirs. The waiters ask your name under the pretext of getting to know each other, and three minutes later they present you with a postcard with your name for $5. Prices in this village are higher even than in Chichen Itza itself. And to be honest the tour is not that cheap. In the city you could find cheaper, because here we paid 110 CAD +78 USD. Guid on Chichen Itza was nice.
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
Hola Maria, no hay costos adicionales en el tour, todo puedes leerlo en las inclusiones y las no inclusiones, no debe obtener nada de todo los demás servicios, lo revisáremos con nuestros guías si no fue claro para usted.
    Terrible - avoid!
    Aneeka_B, Feb 2024
Avoid unless you want to be milked like a cash cow and uncomfortable for 14 hours! This was advertised at 9, but ended up being 14 hrs. We were ferried around on an uncomfortable and filthy tour bus. 5 hours in and we only had visited the 'mayan shop' where we were incessantly sold to. The tour was late starting. Beware of the hidden costs of tipping, taxes and even water. The actual English speaking tour guide at Chichen Itza was great, but he wasn't associated with this company. Wouldn't wish the experience on my worst enemy.
