The Best Tour
David_W, Apr 2024
We booked online for the 10.30 tour from the port. There were 11 or 12 collected in the port and about the same number joined us in town. Our guide was Rob and he was superb in every way. Rob provided a great tour and pointed out interesting sights and facts as we toured. We took in all the great sights of Dunedin, including Baldwin Street, the Railway station, the Botanical Gardens etc in a leisurely and informative manner. Without doubt, this was the best tour that we took on our New Zealand cruise. Thank, Rob

This was a fabulous trip. Our guide, Craig, was informative and extremely engaging and funny. He made the day a very enjoyable one for us. We have fond memories of Dunedin due to Craig and our Garden & City Tour. Well done!
Amazing and breathtaking especially on oall the sites like the railway station, signal hill lookout, city center, others

All of the different sites that this tour gave us were excellent. T he irony is it is the most affordable tour and it was the best. Covered a lot of historical sites. My friends and I were all amazed on how it was narrated by our tour guide Owen. Nice person.
Great tour

We saw the steepest street and Andrew the owner of the company drove the group around Dunedin and was very patient with our group of 46 people. A very nice tour and highly recommended.
Easy way to see Dunedin.

An easy way to see Dunedin and its attractions from the cruise terminal at Port Chalmers. Our guide was informative and entertaining. Would recommend this activity to people coming in on a cruise holiday.

Our Tour Operator was very informative as he is a Dunedin native. We were able to tour around a lot of the interesting places in Dunedin. He was very accommodating and provided us with ample time to roam around during our stops. He even went as far as to give us a quick drive to South Dunedin even though we were already supposed to travel back to Port Chalmers.

Very good city tour - train was great gardens a bit disappointed but then that’s nature and the time of the year!
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Well glad you thought it was a "Very good city tour" but I don't know what you mean about a train or the gardens so not much I can say about those details.
Great tour

Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He provided a history of Dunedin and you could tell he loved his city. He gave us time at each stop to explore on our own and gave us a mini tour of the Botanical gardens.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
I am glad that me or one of our driver/guides was able to give you that experience. Thanks for your review!

Great tour of the city with Rob our guide - he was outstanding. Simply the best way, in a day, to get to see the best of the city.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
I will let Rob know about your praise. Thank you for your review.
Excellent tour of Dunedin
Jill_L, Feb 2024
It was an excellent tour for the money! Much more reasonable them the cruise ship excursions! I was billed twice and still waiting to get that resolved.
Ok but not memorable
Robert_W, Feb 2024
Crowded bus. No legroom. More like a school bus than a tour bus. Driver was OK-but more interaction and personality would have made the tour memorable.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
It as has been a busy time at port this season. I brought in a larger bus that has in fact been used as a school bus at other times. Why did I do this? In general I use tour buses and in fact people booking online generally get priority on these buses so it may be that you didn't pre-book. Regardless of that I did check on the legroom of the bus and I am capable of sitting comfortably on the seats with legroom and I'm over six foot. In any case the reason why a tour bus isn't needed so much in this case is that we are doing short hops between locations in the bus and then getting out as opposed to traveling for hours between cities which is what the tour buses are designed for. Actually I have found that people are less concerned about actual comfort than the perception around that comfort. For instance if a new Mercedes had the same legroom then that would be seen as fine. The bus does have better visibility and aircon than the tour bus and some of the buses taking cruise ship passengers don't even have aircon! (all mine do). In terms of interactions it can be challenging to have interactions with 45 people. Thanks for your comments though I take it all on board.
Great value tour

Excellent tour. Scotty the guide / driver was excellent and very knowledgeable. Great tip for steak and cheese pie for lunch - a New Zealand delicacy!
