Get your feet wet on this introductory trip to the magnificent Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood. Meet your guide and group at Director Park and depart downtown Portland for the charming town of Troutdale, where you'll leave the beaten path for the scenic Historic Columbia Highway. Learn about the cultural history of the area from your guide, as you pass along the banks of the Sandy River. Spy orchards, blueberry fields, and wildlife on your way to Vista House at Crown Point. Snap some dazzling panoramic shots of the Gorge and visit the museum.

Discover two of the Gorge’s most striking waterfalls, Latourell Falls and Multnomah Falls. Visit the classic Multnomah Falls Historic Lodge and stretch your legs with a short hike to the falls’ prime viewpoint, Benson Bridge.

Head to Hood River, a picturesque valley town renowned as a prime destination for wind sports. Watch kiteboarders and windsurfers skate across the water as you enjoy free time for lunch, followed by a scenic drive that culminates at Timberline Lodge, located at a whopping height of 6,000 feet on the crest of Mount Hood. Spend some free time on a guided tour of the lodge, famous as the setting for the classic film The Shining before returning to Portland at the end of your adventure.

Our guide Melia was awesome! She was super knowledgeable about Portland and surrounding areas and shared lots of info about the wildlife, history, and conservation in the area. The waterfalls were beautiful and the trip to Mt Hood was so fun. Skiing in the summer?? Who knew?!

Enthusiastic guide, delicious food, hidden gems.

My Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls & Mt Hood tour with Sam was an absolute delight! Sam is incredibly knowledgeable about the local area, sharing fascinating stories about the history and cultural significance of each place we visited. Sam kept the energy high with their infectious enthusiasm, made sure everyone felt comfortable asking questions as well as offering to take photos of us. I love the pictures! The tour itself was perfectly paced, allowing us to savor the delicious food while also exploring gems. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a unique way to experience Portland!

My best friend and I took this tour to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful day! our tour guide Eric was super kind, patient, and knowledgable. He knew so much interesting information and history, we really enjoyed learning from him. Every place we stopped was spectacular! Only note would be the ability to stay in downtown Mt Hood a little longer to explore, but everything else was fantastic!
Great experience!

Time well spent! Guide was knowledgeable and fun and we saw places we never would have known about on our own. Timing at each location was perfect!
A worthwhile adventure!

David was our guide and he was wonderful! He was great at answering questions and he was informative and funny. He kept us engaged and we learned so much. We had an amazing time! I strongly recommend this tour over the other options because we stopped at multiple waterfalls and felt like the pacing was perfect. David was so good at keep us on schedule that we even got to take a few extra stops along the way. I strongly recommend booking this tour, it was the highlight of our trip!
Great tour experience

Eric, our tour guide and driver was exceptional. He gave us a lot of information about the history of the places we visited. He also gave us ideas about what to do while visiting Portland including restaurants. He’s very knowledgeable and friendly. We’re very happy with our tour. I think it was all worth it.
Great!

Your guide Eric was great and very accommodating to personal requests. He’s also very knowledgeable. I would recommend skipping Mt. Hood and go for the half day tour instead. Can was very clean and comfortable.
Too many mediocre waterfalls

Visiting the Timberline Hotel and seeing Mt Hood up close…..The tour guide, Andy, was outstanding—informative, approachable, friendly. He taught us a lot about day-to-day life in the Portland metro area. The traffic jam at the end of the tour was even insightful—revealing the shortcomings of the MAX network—evidently not taking enough cars off the road.
Stunning Oregon

This trip was the cherry on the top of my cake. Hands down the best day I’ve had here in Oregon. A very informative guide and stunning scenery. Stunning waterfalls and epic views of mount hood.
The beautiful Columbia River Gorge

Our tour guide Daniel was kind, patient, and informative. Our trip to Mount Hood was great but we enjoyed the waterfalls and the observation point over the Columbia River Gorge even more. We had a great day in Oregon!

Drew H was amazing. It was a group tour but my husband and I were the only ones so we were on a private tour!!!
Scenery and nature at her best!

beautiful scenery including several different waterfalls, drive through and lookout over Columbia River Gorge, farmland, Mt Hood. Visit inside the historic Timberline Lodge including a welcome blazing fireplace in the foyer and multiple trails ( some paved) to walk behind the lodge with views toward Mt Hood. Lunch and/or shopping stop in quaint town of Hood River. A pleasant and relaxing day trip to see the Portland surroundings. Drew was a great driver and knowledgeable and friendly guide.
Excellent Value and personable guide

I felt my guide Zeke (Z) had a genuine love of his job, enjoyed sharing his own travel stories and encouraged companionship among the clients taking part in the tour. The excursion was well planned and covered all the highlights of waterfalls and Mt Hood. The van was comfortable but a bit crowded and difficult to board and dismount. I enjoyed the time spent and thought it was a good value. I would recommend this excursion to anyone!
Beautiful waterfall tour

Wonderful tour and tour guide (Chuck) was vey knowledgeable about all aspects of the trip. The stops were long enough to take photos etc and we stopped at a great place for lunch. We really enjoyed our day.
Redundant Trip
Stacey_L, Aug 2023
Only the waterfalls tht were interesting but I aldy did the waterfalls with Portland City Sightseeing Tours tht include the waterfalls. Little did I know it’s the same. The afternoon nothing much to see. Most of it just driving and slept most of the afternoon after the lunch at Hood River. The only thing to see in the afternoon is tht timberline Lodge which is nothing. It’s just a hotel. V boring and not worth it. I would just do the the Portland City Sightseeing tht include the waterfalls and tht should be enough.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Hi Stacey, Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback. We are sorry that the Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls & Mt. Hood tour did not meet your expectations when you traveled with us. We strive to provide a truly memorable experience for all guests. The itineraries for each of our tours are clearly laid out for perusal prior to and upon booking. We apologize that our tour visited some of the same spots that you saw while touring with another company. We strongly encourage all our guests to look at their various travel and tour itineraries while planning their trip to Portland, as there are a number of tour operators in the area that visit the same places and sites. If you find yourself back in the Portland area, we would love the opportunity to explore with you again! Our Oregon Coast Tour does not visit the Columbia River Gorge or waterfalls, so this could be a great, new option for your next trip here. Thank you, Wildwood Adventures
Great tour!

So nice to get on a tour bus and not worry about where to go, how to get there or where to park. Our tour guide Drew was great and gave us history and took us to all the best destinations!
