The scenic drive from Queenstown to Milford Sound was awesome. Ian, our driver and tour guide, was funny and gave us helpful information along the way. The Milford Sound cruise was a bit disappointing though because it rained and it was foggy. Overall, it was worth the long road trip from Queenstown. If I had to do it again, I would probably choose the summer season to visit Milford Sound.

Of course we had high expectations of this tour with Milford Sound seemingly on everyone's bucket list including ours but actually being there still blew us away. We were blessed with great weather as well so to see a place with extremely high rainfall on a perfect cloudless day was a bonus.

Sometimes things truly need to be seen to be believed, and Piopiotahi certainly falls into that category! There is a lot of hype around this world heritage area, but it is easy to see why :-)

It was a long drive from Queenstown, but it was all worth it. The view was amazing, and breath taking. Will sure go again and will recommend it.

Hiking was easy, but I walked slow due to my bad legs. The wonderful glaciers. Once in a lifetime experience.

Beautiful New Zealand. It was a bit of a long bus coach trip, but it was worth it.
Debie is an excellent tour guide and Bus driver.
Only thing to add that she was not aware of Vegetarian requirement, but vegetarian lunch was provided

Not the best of weather to be driving out to Milford Sound, but Ian was a thoughtful and careful driver. He gave us plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos and was most informative. Being wet there were hundreds of waterfalls to see running down like tears down the sides of mountains, sometimes gushing in a torrent. The scenery was stunning. It was touch and go for the cruise, but fortunately by the time we arrived the captain assessed it was safe to do most of the route without going to sea. Only wish there was a shorter route to Milford Sound as a 12+ hour round trip is tiring.

Mountains of tears; what a beautiful description for a beautiful place!
We are delighted that the weather held so that you could enjoy your cruise and get the full Fiordland experience.
It's certainly a long day by coach and car from Queenstown, so we do have many guests that opt to stay in stunning Te Anau for a night or two to break up the journey, and others that choose the Fly Cruise Fly option which is 4-5 hours return :-)

Great trip. Coach was on time, glass roof, charger points. Driver knowledgable and pointed out interesting locations on the way.
Lots of comfort breaks. Lunch was provided (hot pie) with veggie option.
We even saw a Kiwi in Milford as we got off the coach
Very rainy day but that just made the waterfalls more spectacular. Boat trip was amazing with great commentary. Fjord beautiful

We are big advocates of leaving the car at home and allowing a seasoned pro to take the wheel so that you can really soak up the scenery, and learn some new fun Fiordland facts too!
We do say the wetter the better in Piopiotahi, and it's easy to see why when those thousands of temporary waterfalls appear during a deluge :-)

Overall the tour was good. My only disappointment was that we were not given the coach with the glass ceiling on top. I think the tour company was fully booked and arranged 2 buses for the tourists. One of them had glass ceilings on the top. So you could see those huge mountains on the way to Milford sound which would totally elevate the experience. Also most other tour companies charge extra for that type of a coach bus vs a regular coach. So I’m disappointed that we didn’t get the same bus as other tourists for the price we paid.
Lunch was wholesome and had decent options.
