Ride a quad bike on Queenstown Hill during this ATV adventure. After a comprehensive training, hop on a fully automatic all-terrain vehicle and follow your guide over off-road trails (safety gear and all-weather clothing provided). What To Expect
Thrill-seekers, start your all-terrain adventure with hotel pickup in Queenstown. After a drive to the trailhead, climb onto an automatic quad bike for a full ATV safety training with your professional guide, who provides waterproof clothing and safety gear.
Then set off around Queenstown Hill, bumping over the rugged terrain as your guide points out places of interest. Your tour can be tailored to suit the abilities of your small group, with a variety of trails available for any level of experience.
Stop for photo ops and enjoy panoramic views over Queenstown from the summit. After the ride back down, you’re transferred back to the starting point before hotel drop-off.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
- Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Such a fun experience!! I was a bit nervous at first but after practicing with everyone else on how to drive the ATVs, I felt super confident. I had such fun, the tour guides were great, and the views were fantastic!!

Omg we had the best time learning how to ride these quad bikes 🏍. The coaches was awesome in teaching us and really down to earth and paitent.
Riding up the mountain was honestly the most woow moments I've had. Not to mention the view going up and once we were up. It is honestly one of those once in a lifetime experiences.
My son was 13 so he couldn't ride his own quad but he had the best time sitting along one of the coaches quads.

We were picked up promptly and given a very thorough practical safety briefing to get a feel of the bikes. We split into two groups, one for more experienced riders and the other for those with little to no experience.
Benjamin was a very patient guide, taking care to check in regularly and adjusting speeds to accomodate different comfort levels. He made us feel safe and did not push anyone to do anything outside of their limit. I personally found the whole thing a bit scary and Benjamin went out of his way to make me feel at ease.
Even though the weather denied us some nice views, it was an overall enjoyable experience - it was fun to go fast, and we even got to see some sheep!

The guys Dan and Mike were really lovely and good fun. They ensured we were fully capable by doing some initial skill tests before taking us up the mountain. I'd highly recommend. It was definitely my favourite adventure in QT above Paragliding and the Nevis Swing.

Wow, what a trip! Benjamin was a superb instructor and catered brilliantly for our beginner levels. After essential safety instruction and some great practical learning on the quad bike, we progressed quickly and were guided to some beautiful areas, enjoying exhilarating tracks and trails.
It was a truly awesome experience and an ideal way to enjoy some of the unforgettable sights of Queenstown

This experience was a blast. We rode quad bikes through the mountains surrounding Queenstown for about 2 hours, up to the summit and down through the bush by a river. It was a great way to see the country side.
Our guide, Benjamin, was awesome. He clearly has lots of biking experience, and he put a lot of effort into the instruction and safety portion of the tour. He even surprised us with cookies and hot chocolate during a break! He checked in on everyone regularly during the ride and made us feel very safe.
A note on quad bike instruction and safety: Nomad Safaris takes this incredibly seriously. There was a stationary portion where we learned how to operate the bikes, then the instructors took us on progressively more advanced training rides where we learned to drive the bikes in different conditions. This safety training was more comprehensive here than what was required to prepare for a different skydiving experience.
Anecdotally, we did a similar quad bike tour in Indonesia, and there was absolutely no pre-trip instruction or safety walk through. We just hopped on the bikes and went. This experience in NZ was much better. It reflected how seriously NZ takes action sports safety. You should feel very comfortable joining this tour.
