What To Expect

Get an introduction to New Zealand’s ‘adventure capital’ on a 1- or 2-hour Segway tour of Queenstown. From the centrally located meeting point, a shuttle transfers you on a short ride to the starting point.

After your guide demonstrates how to operate the Segway and outfits you with a helmet, take some time to practice steering and powering the easy controls. Once you’re comfortable, you’ll set off to explore Queenstown, following your guide in a small group toward Lake Wakatipu.

Stop at one or two scenic spots for photo ops and continue your 1-hour tour along the bay, or select a 2-hour tour that includes more terrain.

1-hour tour: Enjoy a basic overview of Queenstown and its stunning surroundings with a spin around Queenstown Bay, an inlet on Lake Wakatipu. Take in outstanding views of the Remarkables, Cecil Peak and Walter Peak looming just above the resort town as you ride from Earnslaw Park past St Omer Park, Marine Parade and the Queenstown Gardens.

2-hour tour:Put your skills to the test with another hour of fun on your eco-friendly Segway. Enjoy commentary from your guide as you cruise along the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu before you venture a bit out of Queenstown. You’ll glide up a hill or two — certainly more fun on a Segway than on foot — and glide through Queenstown Gardens to see botanical exhibits on display. On the return ride, you have the option to try out a higher speed setting to glide at a quicker pace.

Great way to spend a morning

Had a fantastic time! Had some brief training at the start to ensure we were confident and then off we went! There was only 2 of us booked on and the tour still ran which was great! We learned lots along the way, played some disc golf in the gardens & were so super confident on the segways on the way back that we got to go to the further point and at top speed! My 14 year old had a blast ! Thank you :)

Lovely tour

We had lovely time with Kevin’s Segway tour. Kevin is very professional, he introduced us to the town, explained the fact, the history and culture of New Zealand and queenstown, as well as familiar us with the town and the surrounding area. Segway was so much fun, and we cruised the beautiful town, started slow and then gradually rode faster, and even through trees. It was one of the highlights of our trip, highly recommend it! And we will be back!

We had a great experience with Kevin during our 2 hr tour of Queenstown. The tour started with a safety briefing and skills training to ensure every member of the tour was competent to ride and felt safe doing so. The route taken and tour commentary was really informative and fun. This is by now means a "flat ride" making it an every more fun experience. The route takes you along the water front, through the center of town, to the Franklin Trail before looping back in the Botanical Gardens. Kevin was fun, knowledgeable and delivered a truly wonderful and fun experience for my whole group. Highly recommended!

It is really great experience with my 12 year old boy and 13 year old girl. We had a lot of fun. Good exercise for us. The coach is very patient and professional. I felt very proud of myself after I mastered the skills.

I normally do a walking tour whenever I get to a new city. I couldn't find one in Queenstown and decided it is time to do a segway tour to get to know a little bit about the city. Kevin was very good at communicating, as he had to move me to a different time slot. On the day of my tour, I showed up a few minutes early. He instructed me on the basics of navigating the segway while waiting for the group of 6 to show up. For the next 1 hour and 45 minutes, we cruised around time, learning a little bit about Queenstown. Kevin was very good about pointing out dagenrous spots to watch out for on the road and his attention to details was great! Very conscious of safety. My only discomfort came from wearing the helmet. Because I have a big head, the helmet caused me to have headaches. If you have a big dome, maybe inform Kevin in advance to see if he has a bigger helmet for you. But overall, great experience, very fun 2-hour ride, and I definitely recommend this to every new comer to Queenstown!

Kevin gave us clear instructions on how to use the Segway and also in leading us on the trip. He also stopped to give us historical and area information along the way. He even stopped at the botanic garden and had us play frisbee golf! That whole trip was a blast.
