    The guide will be outside the train station of Reims centre in front of the tourist office. Please be there at least 5 minutes before the tour departure. Be careful, there are two tourists offices in Reims. The meeting point is at the train station tourist office, not the cathedral tourist office.

What To Expect

Meet your guide at the Reims railway station in the city center in time for a morning departure. Climb aboard a comfortable minivan with a total of eight passengers or fewer and begin your drive to Champagne country. Begin your tour with a visit to one of France’s most famous Champagne houses: Maison G.H.Mumm. Learn about the Champagne industry while sipping your first tasting of the day.

Then, continue to La Montagne de Reims and walk through the vineyards while learning about grape varieties from your guide, before driving down Champagne Avenue in Epernay. Stop to visit the historical town of Hautvillers, former home to the Champagne master Monk Dom Perignon, and visit the church where it is rumored Champagne first flowed.

Step inside a small winery for a local lunch of regional specialties like Reims ham and rose biscuits paired with wine and Champagne before a tasting class takes you through the process, from grape to bottle. Finally, visit a family-run winery that uses traditional processes before your return to Reims.

Amazing trip. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves Champagne. Our guide Suzanne went over and above to make us feel special, a wonderful and unique adventure for just 7 of us. Perfect mix of sight-seeing, educating, hands-on learning and tasting. We very much enjoyed learning about the vineyards, and it was so nice visiting the smaller family ovned Champagne houses. Lunch was delicious and as it was my birthday trip our guide made me a lovely suprise. Can’t say enough amazing things.

Intimate tour of Champagne makers

The little test at lunch to match 3 champagnes by taste was fun. And most interesting was the visit to a small independent champagne maker who were basically working out of the homes, and watching them bottle by hand

Had a great tour learning about the champagne making process, the region, and tasting many different types of champagne. Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating of our many questions and unique interests. I would recommend this tour if you want to do more than just taste great champagne. It provided a unique experience to meet smaller wine makers, see the facilities, and see the beautiful region.

Anne was a great host, very knowledgeable and fun and we enjoyed the company of the fellow guests on the tour. I especially enjoyed the lunch and the little game we played to match the smells with the taste. We have used these skills often on subsequent wine tours around France. It was also great to visit and do tastings at the lesser known boutique and family owned champagnes houses which were fantastic! Highly recommend.

The Magic of Champagne

This tour is by far, the best tour we've ever had! There was plenty of time to enjoy each stop made during the day, we didn't feel rushed. We learned so much about the making of champagne, the different types of grapes that are used, the history of champagne, big houses, family growers, etc. I'm sure there is much, more to learn, but this was an amazing experience. 100% recommend it!

Our guide was great - definitely one of the top five Thomases of my acquaintaince. Van ride was a great time. We had lots of fun at the wineries, and the stops with views were particularly fantastic. Absolutely no complaints.

Xavier was a lovely guide. Very knowledgeable. We toured Moet & Chandon and 2 family wineries. We had a delicious lunch served at the first family winery. Gorgeous scenery and a truly delightful day. Lots of tasting! Highly recommend.

Especially loved a visit to a small champagne house at end of tour. Xavier was a great guide… informative and very accommodating. The tour to the big house, Moët & Chandan, was a bit disappointing, as their guides seemed rushed and impersonal. Overall, definitely recommend this tour.

Great trip, our guide was fantastic and made the extremely hot day we visited epernay very enjoyable. Good value for money and very informative. Marked down 1 star as we only had 7 tastings rather than 10 as promised in the description.

One of the best tours my wife and I have ever had in Europe. Suzanne picked us up from the Reims train station and it was an amazing day every step if the way. We had a chance to learn about the local history of Reims and each if the areas and champagne producers we visited. We had a chance to tour three different champagne houses, and meet the owners of two of them, and these two owners ate also directly involved in the day-to-day operations of their champagne houses. We had lunch at one of the champagne houses, also. Great educational experiences along the way, including a master class in the process of making champagne, combined with a tasting designed to educate you about the various scents and flavors associated with the three primary grapes used in champagne production. If you take a one-day tour of the Champagne/Epernay region, this is the one you want.

A novel tour in the famous Champagne regions

The entire tour was fantastic. We had a good group and everyone enjoyed the tour and had fun. I enjoyed seeing the wide range of vineyards and really appreciated the small owners as well as the large companies. I am glad that the vineyards owned by individuals have a place at the table with the large companies in making decisions about grapes and wine.

The champagne region was beautiful I found the tour guide to talk excessively about politics - I wanted a light and relaxing day and I was very uncomfortable with his references to politics. I feel that the tour guide also needed to be more respectful of the guests requirements to use the bathroom.
