Ionia was a fabulous guide, so knowledgeable! Having been raised inside the walls she oozed love of her city and provided stories at every turn. The small, picturesque village of Lindos was only a hour drive from Old City of Rhodes. Some of us climbed up to the acropolis in Lindos and others elected to explore the labyrinth of streets in this beautiful, whitewashed village. Back in Rhodes we enjoyed tasting the delicious local wines in a charming cafe.

Let me say that Telia was fantastic to deal with! Our ship unexpectedly changed its arrival date and time between the time we booked the tour and our boarding. Telia was aware of the change and was friendly to talk to; I had to call them with that concern. The person I spoke with was Dimitra, who stated, "Don't worry, don't bother to amend your booking; we'll pick you up 30 minutes after your ship arrives, right there at the ship." That was done exactly as promised, and they brought us back to the ship 2 hours before departure. The bus was perfectly air-conditioned, the guide Joanna was excellent—very knowledgeable, friendly, and with a perfect sense of humor. We felt like friends rather than customers. The tour was perfectly balanced and paced, with sightseeing, leisure time, food and wine tasting, a ceramic show, and shopping. To cut a long story short, Viator + Telia + Joanna is the best combination one can get in Greece, 10 out of 10!

Underwhelmed

This particular tour was underwhelming. I would recommend just renting a car. Our guide took personal phone calls and wasn’t interesting. We stopped at a ceramic shop which was basically a tourist trap.

Regarding the phone calls Ioanna answered, please be assured they were for business purposes only. For instance, when a Russian-speaking couple of your friends was unable to locate our bus in Lindos due to their limited English, we contacted Ioanna to assist them. Regarding the pottery workshop, we’re concerned that you may have misunderstood the main point - the intent was to showcase the transformation of clay into art, demonstrating a local skill that has been honed over thousands of years. We understand that tastes vary, and we wish you safe travels.

Nice day in Rhodes

This was an excellent tour. Johana was such a great guide. Very knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. Lindos was super cool with amazing views on top of the Acropolis. You will stop at a ceramic pot store and also taste wine and honey at a small distillery. We also had some time in the medieval city close to the port which is really neat.

Our tour of Rhodes was an unforgettable experience thanks to our amazing guide Ioanna and our skilled driver Nickos. Lindos was a highlight, with its stunning acropolis and breathtaking views. Ioanna's knowledge of the area's history made our visit a trip back in time. The Medieval City was another gem on our itinerary. Walking through the cobblestone streets felt like stepping into a different era, all while Ioanna provided fascinating insights into the knights and history that shaped this unique place. The day was perfectly rounded off with a wine tasting in the Old Town. The selection of local wines was simply perfect, and the setting in one of the Old Town's charming venues was just magical. I cannot recommend this tour enough for anyone looking to explore Rhodes!

Got canceled

Tour company canceled us out at the last minute without prior notice and we were actually waiting at the cruise terminal for more than half an hour with nobody showed up.

This was done in compliance with the Viator/Tripadvisor cancellation policy, and notification of this was automatically sent to the email address provided at the time of booking. When booking activities online, particularly during the low tourist season, we strongly advise checking your email at least 24 hours before the activity begins. This way, you avoid unnecessary waiting for a tour that was cancelled three days earlier. Wishing you safe travels

Not a Small Group tour.

Not what we signed up for. The description of the tour was for a small group tour in a minibus, what we got was a full sized tour bus with over 40 passengers. When I questioned the size the guide shrugged, later was told she expected 11 participants but the company didn’t have enough guides to do multiple tours. The guide was professional and thorough and handled the size of the group with ease, no complaints about the guide. My complaint is being herded along with remote listening devices when what we wanted was a more personalized insight.

It's unclear where the small group guarantee is mentioned in this tour description. 2) The tour description outlines two transportation options: minibus and coach bus. We use minibuses for groups of up to 20 participants, and for larger groups, we use comfortable 54-seater coach buses but without filling them to capacity. 3) We don't offer any tours limited to 11 participants. It seems there might have been a misunderstanding with your guide on this aspect. 4) We use headsets to provide enhanced audio quality, especially in crowded areas, ensuring participants can clearly hear the guide. 5) If you have a preference for smaller group sizes, such as those limited to 11 participants, we recommend considering booking semi-private or private tours. The guide is very informative. She was able to show us around Rhodes. We love the medieval city. Wished we had stayed longer than an hour. Lindos is ok place. I was under the impression they will take us to the beach but we just saw the beach view from the top

Good way to pack lots of things into 1 day. If you choose to go to the Acropolis, it is a hike! First down into the city of Lindos then a steep climb to the Acropolis. Be prepared. Wish we had more time, Rhodes is incredible!

The bus tour was informative. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke English well. The wine tasting was nothing more than a splash of three mediocre wines if no specific varietal. If you’re a wine lover skip that portion. We were able to walk back to the ship from the medieval town in 10 minutes.

Long day and very crowded

Good trip. Super crowded. I think our guide could have done a better job giving us info on the bus about what to expect at Lindos. She gave so much history and when we got there it felt very unorganized with the actual acropolis. Her head set was often out of range and trying to keep up with her through the crowded shops was very hard. I enjoyed it but could have been more organized.

It was a great experience with the highlights of both Lindos and Rhodes. Please note to those interested that there is a lot of walking, and much of it not on even ground. (Please consider other tours if you are unable to walk more than 1/4 mile at a time). We enjoyed ourselves greatly-the guide was knowledgeable and helpful.

Such an interesting island, with so much history! Loved the acropolis in Lindos, although we had some difficulty getting directions from our guide because the transmitters have a short range. Theodora was personable, experienced and knowledgeable. Appreciated that she adjusted our schedule to our advantage due to large crowds. Would recommend this tour to anyone!

What a disappointment

I have no photos or memories of this tour. This tour was cancelled at the last minute by the Telia Tours. They suggested that we could travel to Lindos and pick the coach up there and then get taken to Rhodes saying we could pay another 90 euros and they would arrange a transfer back to Landos There was no mention or anything included in the booking. We said this is not we have paid for and wanted our money to be refunded. We received a reply stating that this was not possible and that they did not pickup from Landos or Lindos. Dear Disgusted Customer, we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. but let us clarify a few points regarding your booking and the subsequent cancellation: the cancellation of your tour was initiated not by us but by you, just 7 minutes before the tour's start time. That’s exactly why your refund request was repeatedly denied by Viator. Our mutual cancellation policy clearly states that refunds are not provided for cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the tour's start time. Regarding the hotel pick-up, our tour description specifies the areas we cover. Lardos is 50 km away from our designated pick-up area, which is why it wasn't available as an option when you booked the tour. We promptly communicated this to you and offered an alternative pick-up at Lindos, which, while not in our pick up area, is a site the tour visits. We hoped this gesture would assist in alleviating some of your travel concerns. As for the return transfer from the Old Town, we provided you with a few options. The 90 EUR cost is a discounted private transfer rate to Lardos, whereas taxis usually charge around 120-130 EUR. Alternatively, we also informed you about a public bus option for 10 EUR, though you mentioned it wasn't convenient. For your future travels, we would highly recommend: 1) Carefully reviewing tour descriptions to ensure they align with your plans. 2) Avoiding cancellations within 24 hours of the activity. 3) Considering accommodations closer to your points of interest. In Rhodes, shared tours typically don't service such distant villages like Lardos. We genuinely appreciate your understanding, and we wish you safe and pleasant travels ahead.

Waste of money for us.

We couldn’t hear a word the guide said. She talked softly and all those behind her couldn’t hear. When we were left on our own, not very good navigation instructions on where to find things.

For outdoor activities, larger groups are provided with headsets. For more intimate groups such as yours, our guides are trained to face the group while describing the sights to optimize audibility. If you felt you couldn't hear while transitioning between sites, there is a no reason to be concerned, it's possible the guide was momentarily silent moving. We truly value the well-being of our guests and take your feedback seriously. While yours is the only one we've received from your group about difficulty hearing the guide, we would kindly suggest considering a consultation with an otolaryngologist to ensure your utmost comfort and health Should you need assistance navigating the Old Town during your free time, our guides are always at your disposal to provide directions. While the Old Town boasts a variety of shopping options ranging from souvenirs to jewelry, it can be a challenge for the guide to anticipate individual shopping preferences unless communicated. Their main priority, however, is to clearly designate a meeting spot after the free period. For those who might find navigation in new places a tad daunting, we recommend using tools like Google Maps or opting to stay near the guide during free exploration periods.
