The pick-up and driver were fine. The issue is with the tour itself. This tour should not be offered by any tour agency. Pompeii is fine as a day tour from Rome. Positano & Amalfi coast is not. It is too far with too much drive time. If you want to visit the Amalfi coast, do it as a 1 or 2 night side trip.

Fabio was a terrific driver/ guide. Laura was very knowledgeable and fun during the Pompeii tour. Fabio stopped along the coast and took plenty of pictures of us. He made reservations for us at the perfect restaurant!

The Perfect Day

Our driver, Fabio, took us out for the perfect day! His coffee stops were well timed. When we got to Pompeii, he left us with a wonderful guide who took us on a marvelous tour of the ruins. Such an amazing ancient city! On the drive along the Amalfi Coast, Fabio knew several places to stop and take fantastic photos. He's a great photographer, too! At Positano, he walked us down to the beach where we marveled at the glowing, blue surf. After 2 hours to wander through this quaint town and shop for world-famous limoncello, he safely returned us to our door step. Best day ever!

Tour of Pompeii ruins, with travel along Amalfi cost and dinner in Positano

We enjoyed the tour of Pompeii ruins, the drive along Amalfi coast, and dinner in Positano with view of the Mediterranean Sea. Our driver Fabio was great. He was kind, helpful, and punctual. We would do it again. But there were a few unexpected inconveniences. This is why our rating is 4, not 5. Firstly, the advertising of this tour was a bit confusing. Not that there was time, but it was not clear that we would not go to the city of Amalfi but would rather drive along the Amalfi coast from Pompeii to Positano. Secondly, we did not anticipate that half of the tour would be spent driving from place to place in the van. 2+ hours from Rome to Pompeii, and 3+ hours coming back to Rome from Positano. 13 hour trip in total for the day. Positano was a wonderful place and the restaurant Fabio took us to was excellent, but there was no time to visit the shops. Thirdly, while Fabio was great and did extra things to make our experience enjoyable, he did not speak much English (no fault of Fabio’s), so we were not able to communicate well or ask questions during the drive. It would have been helpful knowing these things before we booked the tour. Ultimately, this was a pricey tour at a total of $620 to go to two places for two people for the day. We enjoyed the tour experience and would do it again, but would prefer more clarity (travel time, and stops) regarding trip detail.

Pompeii was amazing and the coast and portofino were beautiful! The only hitch was finding the tour in the morning there was a lot of tours going out and we were on the wrong side of the street and barely got there in time! Should have a sign on the van it would be helpful!

Very hot. The tour said we would be visiting Pompeii in the am and the coast after but it was the opposite. Would have liked it to follow their own itinerary.

Tour was excellent. Fairly quick and efficient with pick up and drop off at hotel. Van was very clean and air conditioned. Roberto our driver was very polite, patient and attentive. The itinerary for the day allowed for sufficient time at each location and was a great price point for the amount we did as well as the length of time. Thank you 😊

Fantastic day trip, long day but definitely worth it. Almalfi coast was beautiful & our lovely driver stopped several times for photos & pompeii was brilliant, wish we could of stayed longer. Unexpected suprises in trip to pompeii and Amalfi Coast to Positano

could not believe how big the city of pompeii is. Amalfi Coast is amazing Van was a Fiat 8 passenger van, but it was pretty dirty. Windows needed to be cleaned. High Speed travel down highway to Sorrento exceeding 90 MPH. Notice: they only pick up at hotels within inside the walls of Rome. Telephone is not monitored at all during the day so be patient and understand they are probably running down to Positano for the day and won't be back till 7 or 8 PM. I think this must be a small outfit. But we saw everything we expected to see.. Stepheono was out driver. not very good English, Would have been nice to have some commentary on our drive down to Sorrento. But no words spoken. Stepheono was very helpful and insured you got what you paid for. Just a little disappointed in the mini van size and cleanliness. Good thing only 6 of us went. If it would have been 8 it would have been a very uncomfortable 3 hour ride. Make sure you go to bathroom before they pick you up becasue there are no rest stops between Rome and Sorrento for bathrooms or drinks.

Amalfi and Pompéi were great, despite the heat. It was so hot out that 2 hours in Pompéi was plenty of time. Would have liked more time in Positano. It was also very crowded. The van driver, while very nice, drove dangerously fast. Also, the van did not have air conditioning in the back row, where 3 of us sat. It was very hot and uncomfortable for the 3 hour duration each way. The pickup was very early, and the breakfast stop was at a service area/rest stop on the highway, and the driver did not help witht the process at the rest stop. It was confusing.

You need more than 2 hours for Pompeii

Pompeii is huge. It is an amazing area and lots of to discover and witness there. But 2 hours in Pompeii is definitely not enough. We only given 2 hours and I couldn't see half of it even though I rushed through it all. Our driver was amazing and he did everything to help us. But we couldn't see Amalfi because of time restrictions. We stopped at Positano for lunch and it was beautiful. Crowded and expensive but breathtaking. In general it was nice to go somewhere else than Rome in Italy. But I really need to go again to see all Pompeii, preferably with a guided private tour.
