Great walk in travestere, disappointing dinner
ALONSO_P, Apr 2024
This one a sweet and sour experience. The guides were fantastic, the spots visited in Trastevere for local food and drinks tasting were awesome, however the dinner at the villa was mediocre at best. Felt and tasted more like gas station/ frozen food than homemade. While having dinner we realized this tour was put on hold for a few years, and yesterday’s was the first time they were doing it after a few years break. Id recommend this for the history learning with guide Roberto, but the definitely need to get another place for dinner.
Excellent dinner

The tour was an evening stroll that ended up with an amazing dinner. There is not much to say about the walking tour as I felt it was too slow, too short and not enough exploring of the Trastevere. It was more liked for older people or the ones that were already tired of marching around town all day.But the dinner place and event was certainly precious. The environment was lovely and the meals were just excellent.

Ten stars for this one. We had walked around this area earlier in the day before meeting Roberto, our guide. He showed us places we would not have found on our own. The Villa Dinner was excellent and we had a most pleasant evening with our hostess and chef.

This was a fun night and is not to be missed. The hostess was excellent the food was excellent the company was excellent and they even arranged to have a cab pick us up when we were done. The chef came out and told stories about the food and the villa which was very entertaining. It was a small group so that we all got to know each other. Be wary of the killer cat.......don't want to spoil the story. The wine was matched to the meal and made the spirits soar. This is a well put together evening, meeting place was easy to find. Guide was excellent and had lived in NY so it was a treat for us to speak with her about her experience.

the tour of Trastevere was interesting and the villa great. But the dinner was only passable the stories from the chef seemed well rehearsed and told to entertain the participants.

Parts of this tour were wonderful. The Trastevere district is interesting in history and culture. Our guide lives in the area and she added great colour to the tour. The villa is lovely. The downfall is the dinner....it's not good. If you're a foody you will be disappointed. The four course meal consists of salty bruschetta, lukewarm pasta Puttanesca, then two thin slices of turkey deli meat smothered in mushroom sauce, thankfully the panna cotta dessert was good. I would not recommend this tour. It would be better to walk through the area with a guide then eat at any of the wonderful restaurants nearby.

Amazing evening! We met our guide, Roberto, and had an hour long walking tour of Trastevere. Then arriving at a private villa, we had an intimate dinner with 12 others. We enjoyed meeting folks from Scotland, Ireland, and New York, and even made a new friend that we met again for dinner a week later. The villa is owned by a precious young woman of noble birth who has started a business opening her home for dinners and events. She couldn't have been more down to earth, welcoming, friendly and gracious. We toured three rooms in her house including an evocative courtyard where we had appetizers and drinks. The chef prepared 4 courses and gave us a recipe to take home. He also told some little tales of popes and palaces that were highly amusing. It was a great evening - one of the highlights of our time in Rome.

What a lovely walking tour and private villa dinner after. Inga was our guide and she did a fantastic job. Walked through Trastevere and learned so much. Inga explains things in a very interesting way -- she has a very interesting background. Makes it fun. The villa dinner was great. Met some new folks while sharing dinner. The chef was entertaining with his stories and also excellent in the kitchen. Highly recommend you take this experience in Rome.
