A perfect transfer experience…! The driver (Marko) arrived on time to the Port arrival area. He was very personable and extremely efficient (we arrived at our Rome hotel less than one hour after departing Civitavecchia). This was just a transfer from cruise ship to Rome. Driver was there on time, professional, and got us to our destination safely. Not all transport drivers are cleared to pick up passengers at the cruise ship rather than the terminal and it was a great convenience not to have to take the shuttle to the terminal with our luggage. Our driver was standing there with a sign with our names on it as soon as we collected our luggage from the cruise ship. The vehicle was clean, comfortable and roomy for our 4 passengers with quite a lot of luggage. When I booked the transport I was not sure what time I needed to book pick-up, and received great advice from Viator on the appropriate pickup time. Would highly recommend. Also used this service from Rome to the airport, and had the same high-quality service.

Driver was promised to speak English spoke only Italian. He pointed to his back and indicated he could not life the luggage-we we had to load and unload. Not what was promised. Very disappointed in Viatour.

Viator local providers are flakes

Driver failed to show, leaving us stranded at the port and necessitating a last minute exhorbitant 233€ charge from a "taxi" for the transportation from the port to Rome. Alleged reason - traffic accident was causing delay, but all other private cars were at Port and there was no accident anyway on the autostrada.

Driver was sent to wrong terminal, at port. We waited 1 hour, in hot sun. When we arrived in Rome. Our hotel road was, partially closed . Driver didn’t bother to go around corner to another road for hotel access. My sister and I, were dropped off, on a cobblestone road, with 4 pieces of heavy, and a large shopping bag. We couldn’t even roll our bags, to walk the rest of the way to our hotel.
