The Best Tour in Rome

The Driver went to the wrong cruise port for pickup and we ended up not using this service we paid for in advance. Since we were on a tight schedule to catch our return flight home, we had to make other arrangements last minute at the port with a different taxi service. The company did recognize the mistake and refunded the fare. So I give them credit for that.

Dear Robert_F, Thank you for taking the time to review us. Here is the recapitulation of what happened. And also, the title of your review is misguiding. There is only one cruise port in Civitavecchia. Driver was SENT to the wrong pier/dock by the PORT MANAGER. There is no other source of information regarding the pier/dock that we as transportation company can rely on. We sent you proof that driver was entering the port at 07:14 (your pick up time was scheduled at 07:20). We are always told by the port manager at which dock each cruise is arriving. We were told dock 25. Driver was there at 07:18. Once he got there he realised port manager sent him to the wrong dock, and had to go to entry again and ask for your correct dock (12). In the meantime, the contact number you provided was off. Driver sent you sms, whatsapp and even tried to call you... There was no way of getting a hold of you. Driver got to your dock at 07:30 and you were already gone. You could not wait even 10 minutes, which is fair enough as you needed to be at the airport. But you never tried contacting us nor gave us a number which worked. Upon your message once at the airport, we proceeded to fully refund you instantly although our driver was there. Thank you again for taking the time to review us. Next time it would be very helpful, if you book any private transportation, if you provide a contact number which actually works. Dear Kirsten_T, Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We are sorry for the delay. Yesterday Rome was a chaos, we had a full strike of metro and bus. Even catching a taxi was extremely difficult. Traffic was even more chaotic than usual for leaving Rome. That was the reason for the delay (which was exactly 20 min from what our GPS shows), which is in any case not an excuse from our side. We are sorry. Yesterday 8000 people arrived to Civitavecchia, we can assure you that taking a taxi would have not been that easy, nor less expensive. First of all because it is not possible to book a taxi in advance for pick up at the port, you must do the line (and yesterday it was a long one). Secondly, you where 5 people, so you would have needed 2 vehicles. Anyways, we are sorry for our 20 minute delay yesterday. We wont invent an excuse for that, it is not what we aim for. We are just explaining you the situation. Once again, thank you for your review. It is helpful for other customers and for us to keep progressing as a company. Hope you had a wonderful time in your cruise.

We were picked up at Claudio at our hotel. He got us to the cruise port in perfect timing was quite the host shared a lot of history as we were driving out of the city. Very safe and very professional. It's only recommend using them anytime you're in Rome.

1st Driver did not show up

Driver never showed up. Had to call and the company said they would send a different driver. If we would not have called we would have been sitting there all day waiting. The new driver did show up and got us to the cruise terminal. This was not on him, it was the company's fault for not having good conumication with their drivers.

The driver was early, the vehicle was spotless and large, he took us right to the prearranged address. Others from our cruise were still waiting for the taxi drivers to fill the vans before leaving. Those bags were packed!

Was nice to have a driver scheduled. Only thing was trying to find him when we got to the ground transportation area. Our driver had our names on his cell phone and others had signs so I don't know how many times we walked by him before we saw the name on the cell phone- so be sure to look at everybody!

We had 7 people with 8...

We had 7 people with 8 check in luggages and 7 carry-on...The company sent us a mini van with 8 seats but no room for our 7 carry-on luggages. We were end up to put All of our 7 carry-on luggages in front of our seats with no room for our legs. We felt like stucking in the tiny box. Terrible service :-/
