    Great Visit - Terrible Booking Experience

    Once finally inside the Colosseum, we had a great time. However our original 2:30pm tour on Friday “had not been passed on to Roman Empire Tours from Viator” - they said they could take us at 4:45 that day or not until the next day. They also refused to give me any kind of confirmation for the change. Sketchy and unreliable but thankful we made it in!

    One had to register in a nearby office; we did not receive tickets but became part of a guided tour; start of the tour was delayed by more than an hour; entrance was only possible with the guide; before getting even near to the entrance of the colosseum the guide talked more than 45 minutes about history (although interesting, it was not what we booked); audio guide technique was bad -> one had to be very close to the guide. Our suggestion: take sun milk, the ordinary queue and read a book while waiting -> will eventually be faster

    This was awful. The listing said we had to be there by 9 am to get out tickets. We got there at 8:30 and waited 2 hours for our tickets. They wait for the people to show up and make them wait while they buy the tickets. This tour was not as advertised.

    We booked this in advance but there was 15 euros pp to pay on going to booking office for headsets.. The queues are unbelievable to enter The Colosseum. Plenty of time should be allowed to get to the booking office, check in and set off to The Colosseum with your guide. We were not overly enthralled with this trip. If we were to do it again, we would pre book tickets to get ahead in the queues but research it better and do it under our own steam. We saw very little of the Colosseum and could not hear our guide very well. We were given choice to stay there after his talk OR go with him over the road to The Palatine where he admitted us and then left us! This was much better!! We explored at our own pace and paid 6euros pp to a museum which we both found very interesting. Felt this was a bit of a -rip -off- the -tourist trip. Our son-in-law had been and their guide had taken them round The Palatine as well. Don't think ours could be bothered.

    We werden van hot naar her gestuurd bij de ingang. Daarom 15 minuten te laat. Voucher verlopen. 30 euro bij moeten betalen.
