After a 9 hour flt delay we arrived at sjo and immediately saw my driver . It was so nice to seem him right away after a long journey . The ride from sjo airport to la fortuna took 2 1/2 hours with no traffic . The vehicle was clean and the driver was courteous ! We would definitely use them again !
Private transfer to La Fortunate from Juan Airport very good but shared from La Fortunta to Tamarindo was terrible!

Two of us had a private transfer to La Fortuna. The driver spoke very limited english but was a super friendly guy and he tried to communicate with us throughout the trip. The bus was huge with over 20 seats which was crazy. The problem with a large bus, other than the waste of gas, is that going up hills is a struggle so I suspect the trip took longer than it would have in a private car. t took over an hour to get through customs in the airport (no fault of the transfer) but it was nice knowing they were waiting for only us! As a result, we ended up in rush hour traffic which also added another hour+ to the commute/drive to La Fortuna. We ended up having the same driver and bus for a shared transfer from La Fortuna to Tamarindo. That was a terrible experience. Every seat was taken plus some jump seats that they folded down. The drive should have taken 4 hours and took almost 7 hours and it was awful. Everyone on that bus was miserable! I was literally concerned at one point that they might have been a fight between 2 passengers because people were so frustrated and angry. If you can afford it, take a short plane ride from La Fortunta to Tamarindo! Possibly a car would be better as the bus was going up hills at single digit speeds and it occurred repeatedly throughout the trip as the drive is all hills for the first 4 hours... Plus they stopped in the middle of no where to pick up another couple. Not sure how much additional time that might have taken as I had no idea where we were most of the trip. Then at drop-off, they went to everyone's hotel which is great if you are early in the process but we were the last to get dropped off! I will never do that again!
