This was one of the highlights of our trip. Our host was on fire from the first second of the tour. Great Mexican food and drink with great stories wrapped around. This was fun! Highly recommended.

Learning about history as we sampled the food. The food we tried was varied and very good. Also appreciated suggestions given for other restaurants and bars to try, and what we might want to explore as we passed by landmarks. Omar was an excellent guide.

Our guide, Omar Rigel, did an exemplary job in interweaving San Miguel and Mexican history with the food ingredients comprising European and indigenous meals in this area. We were impressed to learn that, directionally, more interest is being developed by restaurants on indigenous food ingredients and meals. We voted that Omar was one of the best guides we have had in our 30 years of international travel.
Too much history, not enough variety of food

Overall the tour was good. We have been on many food tours in different cities around the world. The description did not mention history as part of the experience. As we had spent the previous day on a short history tour of San Miguel, I thought this tour was going to mainly be about the food. There was definitely more history than food. We stopped at three lunch places and an ice cream cart for dessert. There was plenty of food, but not much variety. They filled us up on soup and guacamole at the first stop. It was delicious, but felt purposeful so that we weren't hungry at the end. Again, overall it was fine, just not what I expected from the description. If it had said food and cultural tour, I would have expected something different.

The guide Victor, was good; but the structure of the tour was not what we expected: visited 3 restaurants with arranged dishes. We expected to see markets, stands, food preparation, tastes of more items.

Omar was a terrific guide. He provided us with so much information about the Mexican kitchen while also giving us a very interesting history lesson. He was kind and funny and kept it light and entertaining. This was an excellent tour and I will be be to recommend it to any friends who visit the lovely San Miguel. Amy

My mom and I did the food tour of San Miguel with Omar and it was immensely enjoyable. Omar, was very knowledgable about the history of the region and the food and he made the tour very interactive and entertaining. As we enjoyed good food and history, he also made great shops, venue and restaurant recommendations along the way for us to visit if we have the time. I highly recommend this tour.

The food served was good and the restaurants were quite nice. Enjoyed meeting the other people on the tour- even ran into two of them the next day. Omar was very informative and had a great sense of humor. He recommended several other places to visit while in Sam Miguel de Allende. He was very knowledgeable about the history of San Miguel.
