We pick up directly from your location for our SHARED/ GROUP WINE TOUR which can include hotels or homes. If you are not saying at one of these hotels listed, we also pick up at residences (AirBnB, etc). If you are driving up from Los Angeles (or other cities out of the area) just for the day, we can arrange to meet at a central location in downtown Santa Barbara (easy off the freeway). This location is typically Hotel Californian. Please put this in your pick up location when driving up for the day and we'll reply with exact pick up time once tour is confirmed.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Karina was a wonderful and extremely knowledgeable tour guide. She made sure to drive us by all these wonderful views and sites on our way to/from the vineyards. We visited three vineyards and were able to sample a plethora of wines. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys wine and great views!

Special Access to Private Vineyards

We were granted access to non-public vineyards, which we would never have access to on our own. We met personally with the growers/vinters. It was a special tour. The other people in our group were fun, & we didn’t feel rushed. We highly recommend Sustainable Wine Tour.

The Best Wine Tour

Our tour guide Karina was absolutely fantastic. She was very knowledgable (about wine and the area), friendly, and an extremely attentive host. At each of the wineries she chose for our visits, we met with wine makers devoted to their craft and happy to spend time sharing their stories, passion and amazing wine with us. This was the best wine tour we have ever booked. It made for a perfect day!

Fantastic wine tour to a very creative region

Karina took us to 3 terrific boutique wine makers who are passionate about their wine. She know and understands this region intimately. The discussions were enlightening and the wine was delicious. A very tasty lunch was provided. We even made a brief excursion to a nice olive oil grove. Overall one of the best wine tours we have taken. Well worth it. Highly recommend.

Great day learning about wines

Our tour guide, Scott, was great. Picked at the hotel was on time. Felt safe in his van as we traveled to the wineries. We really enjoyed listening to the wine makers and their passion for their wines. This was the first and stairs stops. The second stop was at the home of a wine broker. While the host was knowledgeable about the various wine brands, I would have preferred visiting another winery.

This wine experience was like no other! Not only was our guide, Karina, so incredibly knowledgeable, she knew everything about Santa Barbara from the history, all the way to the shrubbery! Her knowledge of wine as well as the development of the wine country in Santa Barbara was impeccable! I have never experienced a wine tour such as this! Not only has my entire outlook on wine changed, but I can’t wait to learn more about sustainable wineries all across California! Not only will I recommend, but I absolutely will be taking other people on this tour. Highly highly recommend! Karina was professional, kind, funny, and so incredibly knowledgeable about wine!

My wife and I shared this tour with 2 other couples & a super tour guide (Scott). We spent time at three different wineries...which provided us with an inside look of the "behind the scenes' of the processing / history of the various wines by the most knowledgeable people who "love" their jobs. We sipped our way through the afternoon and enjoyed a delicious lunch at one of the wineries. At the end of the tour we all hated for it to end. To top it all off, we contacted Scott to tell him we had forgotten one of our wine selections...he said he would retrieve it from the van and send it to us...he did and we received it within 3 days!! If you are going to Santa Barbara, and love wines...THIS is the tour to take (say hi to Scott for us!!)

Each wine grower or assistant was very knowledgeable about their craft, and how the varieties of grapes flourished by region. I was impressed by their use of eco dynamics to create the purest product possible. Our education began the moment we got in the van. Frances, our driver educated us along the route and between vineyards. Everyone was very kind and answered all questions. We even got to meet some farm animals. We stepped out into the vineyards and saw the grapes just sprouting into what would become wine. We tasted a LOT of wine! It was such a fun day!

Scott crafted a customized tour of 2 gorgeous wineries and allowed us a peak into a wine making facility. Ar our first stop we were able to do an extended private tasting with the winemaker and owner at his family's vineyard. We then had a one on one private tasting with the winemaker and owner in his winemaking facility where he shared his passion for winemaking and life. Lastly, we enjoyed a tasting at a beautiful vineyard where we enjoyed fabulous wines and the beautiful vista. Scott's knowledge and attentions to detail incorporated our love of Italian wines and created a unique Santa Barbara wine experience!

Luxurious tour with Breathtaking views and great wine

Breathtaking tour through the Ynez Valley. Easy pickup from the hotel, luxury Mercedes roomy vehicle. Private boutique wineries that surprised and delighted us. We are novice at wine, but some of these wines really astounded us. They’ve been serving this area for 15+ years and it really shows! We went to three locations and had between 6-8 pours per location plus a delicious packed lunch. Def bringing family and friends on this tour in the future!

Went in this tour as part of an annual girls trip. Had an amazing time. The tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable. All of the wineries were amazing! This is truly an exclusive, one of a kind experience with the wine makers. Would highly recommend!

Our wine tour with Steven from Sustainable Wine Tours was excellent. He was so knowledgeable about wine, the climate and each of the producers we met. The destinations selected for our group were each unique and provided a fun experience and excellent tastes. We really enjoyed learning about each wine makers philosophy and found the opportunity to visit small, private producers to be a very special and intimate experience. This was the highlight of our trip to Santa Barbara and we would highly recommend Sustainable to other travelers.
