We enjoyed David's thoughtful and entertaining tour. It's an insider's look at Malibu culture and history and a perfect way to start your trip. David weaves in historical perspective, a stop at his favorite beach (which we hadn't heard of before), a few celebrity homes (including my request to pass by the house of one famously reclusive folk & rock legend), restaurant tips, outrageous home prices, useful pointers on accessing beaches that otherwise might be hard to reach, fun musical choices to begin and end our trip and much more. All with a great sense of humor and purpose. Initially, I wondered if a 5.5 hour tour might be too much touring for me. In the end, I only wished we'd done it our first day in Malibu.

The stunning views, the celebrity housing, …..a fantastic day with our passionate guide David! He loves Malibu and the beaches- very knowledgeable of the history and landscape of the area! Places we would never know how to get to! Especially the beaches. He was happy to share! We definitely recommend this tour! You won’t be disappointed!

Great Way to Spend a Less Hectic Day in the LA Area

If you’re looking for a more gentle day between more hectic days in the LA city/Hollywood area, but also don’t want to sit around doing nothing and don’t have a car, then this tour of Malibu is for you. David is kind, pleasant, informative, and a great driver. You will see some of the most beautiful coastline in the world (main agenda) and a few celebrity homes (on the side). I learned a lot and had fun while doing it. Just plan to stay in Santa Monica or find a reliable way of getting there early.

Was a fantastic day trip and an excellent way to see Malibu. There is plenty of time given at the stops to enjoy and take pictures. Dave is very knowledgeable, kind, and friendly even gave another passenger sunglasses as they had lost their own. I enjoyed the small group experience and would highly recommend it. Do bring cash however to tip the driver after.

Malibu is an extremely picturesque place and certainly worth a visit if you are in LA. The tour guide David made it very interesting and shared a lot of interesting facts about Malibu, its residents and it’s history.

OK, so we already wrote a review the very day of the tour at the conclusion of the tour after Dave asked us to write a five star review, and he placed barcodes on the back of the seats to scan and write the review which we did and since then we’ve received no less than 15 automated request to review the tour that we already reviewed. It’s extremely annoying so here’s the review when we first arrived. Dave said this is your tour it’s all about you, so tell me what you really want to do and see. We expressed an interest to see homes in architecture and another couple expressed an interest to see the University. that made no impact were fact on the tour at all as Dave conducted a tour I’m sure as he always does focusing exclusively on exactly what he wanted to do. No big deal, but there was no mention of architecture except perhaps for one house, which look like an eagle at one in the ward, but that was already part of his routine . Overall, it was a good tour, but he spent 25 minutes on the side of a highway with traffic passing by with the echoing of noise, bouncing off of the adjacent wall and street while he discussed the history of Malibu. He certainly could’ve pulled into a lot with no noise so that we could be comfortable and listen attentively to his story. I’d say that 10 to 15% of the tour was actually devoted to homes but pretty much just flying by them on the highway or side roads. he runs a very strict schedule and you can tell he becomes a bit anxious when you are 1 to 2 minutes beyond the allotted time at each stop. The wait at the restroom at Starbucks which by the way was filthy was over 20 minutes just to get to the single bathroom and likewise at the lunch stop at the Malibu pier. Nonetheless for history buffs it was an interesting tour, but I’m sure he lost the attention of most of the people on the tour. We really had enough of having to see and read their pop-ups two times a day every day about writing a review which we already did. this is the more thorough and pointed review. Thanks to their badgering. I apologize for typos, but I’m not gonna take the time to edit my dictation.

We had so much fun yesterday such a great day and experience, it was very nice tour, specially David he took us to Mulibu stars Homes, beach tour and downtown of Mulibu stopped for break and lunch time that was very nice of him! David was very courteous and fun. He made sure we have a good time with lots of information. This tour covers a long stretch of Malibu coast line with such a interesting Malibu history and now. We enjoyed beautiful scenery away from the city.

Wow... what can I say other than YOU NEED TO DO THIS TOUR!!! It's literally amazing from start to finish! David our tour guide was so passionate he knew so much about the history of Miami, its incredibly interesting and fascinating! David also only shows current homes of celebrities, not previous ones which we loved! Nothing more annoying than hearing how a celebrity used to live in that house 10 years ago! We got to go up and see 360° view of Miami at point Dume! So many wonderful places to see and we had lots of stop offs! Even down to the end when we were on our way back David had put together a great playlist all referencing california, miami etc! We had the most wonderful day in Miami and cannot be thankful for David for showing us this beautiful place!!

This was a perfect tour - Dave was awesome! Highly recommended. His commentary was entertaining and informative - with pick-up/drop-off instructions especially clear. Great for solo travelers!
