What To Expect
Your tour begins with hotel pickup in the morning, where you board a comfortable 9-seater van, destined for the east side of São Miguel Island.
Arrive in Furnas, a town built entirely inside a volcano caldera, home to volcanic springs, gas vents, and thermal pools. Take the opportunity to relax in the delightful thermal pools of Furnas town (optional, own expense) and revitalize with a "cozido" stew, cooked in pots buried within the thermal grounds.
Admire some of the island's best panoramic views of Furnas Lake from an elevated viewpoint.
After a stop at the stunning Ribeira dos Caldeirões waterfall in the natural park, take in the coastal views from a high cliff. Your tour concludes with hotel drop-off.

It was amazing day with a super guide Hugo. He told us a lot about the islands and live here. Weather was awful, but Hugo made our day :)
During tour day we visited couple spots with amazing views and also had experience of swiming in hot springs.

What an amazing day!
We got to see the most beautiful sites, gardens, and lakes and had the most unique and tasty dish, guided by the best in the business-João was excellent and made the whole day a happy and memorable experience. Loved every minute.

The tour run by Pure Azores is 5 star. We went to many beautiful sights on the east side of the island. The cliffs and views were outstanding. We went to Furnas and had the traditional lunch with wine all great. There were only 8 people in the van so very personal. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is for the guide whose name I will not post. He was such a downer. Quiet and very crabby because his girlfriend broke up with him. He should keep his personal life at home and not take it out on paying customers. I would definitely recommend this tour to see the beautiful east side. It was a great day.

If I could give this tour four and a half stars I would. We had a great guide whose name I know I'm going to misspell, so I will call him G, who really brought to life the places that we saw on the east side of Sao Miguel. And there were many - Nordeste, Furnas, and several other places along the way. I would highly recommend this tour.

Great tour. Led by a thoroughly professional guide G( Gonsalo). He was entertaining and made the whole trip worth it.
We enjoyed the whole day,and what a day. Many interesting things to see.
We loved the Furnas experience and the Gates of Hell. Steam & water bubble up from the volcano below the surface. A popular traditional dish, which we had for lunch, involves various vegetables, meats & spices put in a pot and buried beneath the surface for 10 hours to be cooked from the heat of the volcano. Some of the dirt piles have the name of the restaurant, whose food is being cooked under the sign. An interesting side note is that their kale leaves are huge & not krinkly.Ribeira do's caldeiroes was a lovely park with waterfalls
The island is very interesting and extremely beautiful.
A must-do on your bucket list.
