Sopheep (apologies if misspelled her name) was a great instructor! I ended up being the only one in the class so I had a private cooking lesson. She was so kind, informative, and engaging. She offered to take pictures at any point in the process. The food was delicious, especially the dessert, and I'm glad I have the recipes so I can make it at home. Definitely recommend supporting The Paper Tiger and doing this lesson.

The course was incredibly well organised and the ladies running it were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the preparation and the eating - the food was delicious even though I cooked it myself. Only suggestion to others is don’t eat anything before the course. There is so much food it’s a struggle to eat it all. Would recommend to anyone.

We signed up for the private class, but the service provider added an outside person without asking us or even offering us a partial refund of the higher private fee. The cooking instructor, however, was great. We enjoyed the class, etc. But it was not what we ordered or paid for.

Good activity in Siem Reap

It was a good way to know more about the cuisine in Cambodia. I would have liked for the market visit to be more organized - it was a bit perfunctory (as the ingredients had already been prepared back at the venue) and our teacher was just going through the motions of going around the market. There was not much explanation about key local ingredients. The cooking lesson itself was OK. We were given chores related to our chosen dishes - peeling vegetables, making spice pastes using a mortar and pestle - and then we had a chance to actually cook the dishes ourselves with supervision by the teacher. We then got to eat what we cooked, and even brought home the leftovers for our friends to try. Over all, a very good way to spend a morning or an afternoon in Siem Reap.

Good Cooking Class

This was quite a good cooking class, although mine was private after booking a group class. The teacher was helpful and it was quite full on, but I wish I got to be more involved with the dessert. I felt a bit weird being sat outside so that the staff could point to my meal for passers-by who were looking for food. But overall the food was delicious and the teacher was helpful.

We had a ball with Channy, our energetic and fun teacher. I know my way around some Asian cooking from living in that part of the world for many years, but I really learned a lot from Channy. My husband learned even more and thoroughly enjoyed himself. The kitchen is open air, felt nice and cool and the class was well organized and in an excellent location for further exploration. . We often take cooking lessons from locals when we travel and we highly recommend Paper Tiger (and especially Channy!) as there is nothing more cultural than food and how it's shopped for and made. Everyone should add cooking classes to their travel agendas!

Channy was very helpful and informative. The ingredients were fantastic and the food was amazing. Only reason not 5 stars was fleeced for the cost of a small bottle water to go with the food I had cooked.

Sinuon was a delightful teacher, showing us how to correctly prepare the vegetables, laughing with us as we lit the dessert on fire, and taking pictures for us. We enjoyed the class very much.

Joined a class of 13 people. This in itself created a problem as there were 3 entrees and 4 mains with each person able to choose individually from these dishes. The lady taking the class was excellent but pushed trying to co ordinate everyone to prep and cook (with limited gas burners) different dishes. It would seem that this should have either been a hands on class with limited class numbers and dishes or a cooking demonstration. The class lasted 3 hours with no water or drinks being offered during that time. The big plus was that the food was wonderful and a shame that the experience was marred by poor planning

Leider war ich die Einzige, die sich füür diesen Kurs beworben hatte und dennoch habe ich eine ganz tolle Erfahrung gemacht. Die Kochlehrerin war einfach nur Klasse.... tolles Menue gemeinsam gezaubert. Immer wieder gerne!!!
