Great experience, incredible guide

Book this tour! I’d definitely recommend it on your first day of Siem Reap so that you can get a lay of the land. Even if it is not your first day and you’re looking for something to do in the morning, this is it. Sai was an incredible tour guide! He knows everything there is to know about Siem Reap, had an answer for every question we asked, great recommendations for places to eat, the list goes on. The tour itself is great you’ll get to see authentic parts of Cambodia that I can guarantee you would not see otherwise.

Introduction to Siem Reap

Sai our guide gave us a great introduction to key parts of Siem Reap city. He was very informative, even explaining how to cross the road! It was also good to hear about his experiences growing up. I would recommend this walk as a good break from the temples. Bonus being its not too long in the heat.

Guide was excellent, and very fun communicator. The pace was good, and the places we visited were some of the best ones. I did at the start of my trip, and then was able to revisit on later days feeling a bit more confident of where i went.

Was a very informative and enjoyable tour. Went to Preah Promroath Pagoda built in 1300s, Royal Palace and Cambodia craft market. Our guide, Te, was excellent and her English was excellent. Highly recommend this tour.

Interesting informal walk

The guide was interesting and informative. He told us not just about the places we visited but also a little about everyday life in Cambodia. The only problem was that he walked far too quickly for most of the people in the group, especially over the rough terrain which passes for pavements in Cambodia. One member of the group injured his ankle but the guide was too far ahead to deal with the situation.

Excellent guide and great introduction to Siem Reap

My guide was Sai who was very friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. This was my first day in Siem Reap, and this tour helped give me bearings on the main sights of Siem Reap, and some hidden gems as well. Sai provided a lot of great local information and insight, and I highly recommend this walking tour to anyone travelling to Siem Reap. I even went back to the "Made in Cambodia" market later that day, to purchase a painting that I saw as part of my walking tour.

We had an excellent walking tour with Ti. It ended up being only my partner and me on the tour, and Ti was a great guide, giving us lots of local information and especially history of the sites and Cambodia. You will visit many of the sites that a tourist would want to see anyway, so why not pay $5 to get local information and background!

This was the worse and shortest tour I ever had, the tour guide from the get go he was very dismissive and disrespectful to me when I introduced my self to him he gave me up and down look and said ohh it's you and asked me if I was sure that's my name on a ticket, which I asked whom were you expecting a different person or a cocasian he facial expressions gave me an answer, from there everything went downhill 👎 From the Adventure Travel Co office to Kandel village he was walking far away from me like he didn't want to be seen with me everytime he wanted to say something to me he had to wait for me to catch up with him, just right out of the Kandal village I asked him his name and he said ohhh do you really want to know my name which he still didn't tell me so I asked him do you really want to be my guide flat out he said let just council this because you don't look interested which I asked him would I have booked it if I wasn't interested and he just said go back to the office and collect your money and picked up his phone called his co-worker whom she came to meet me by the road to give me my money. I don't know his name but I have his photo

Dear Winni..., Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts. I am sorry to hear that you consider this to be your worst experience ever - a bold statement indeed! The guide you are talking about contact me immediately after your interaction with him so I am well aware of who you are referring to, photo or not, and I would like to start by saying that this is one of our most well-liked and highly regarded guides. I have no doubt that this experience was not pleasant for you, but I fear that you are neglecting to tell the whole story here... What you have left out is that you arrived at a gas station instead of our official starting point which is clearly described when you book the tour and began your interaction by calling our office and being quite rude to the guide in question. Now I'm not sure about you, but if this were someone behaving rudely towards me for a mistake which was their own, I too would not be too pleased at the idea of then having to turn on the charm for the next hour and a half for a person who has made it very clear what they think of me before even meeting me! Regarding the alleged racial slur you have elluded to, I can assure you that this was more of a lack of cultural understanding and surprise on his part and for this I do apologize. Cambodia is not a society where knowledge is held regarding much of the outside world, and while we try every day to work with our team to expand their minds and knowledge base, there are bound to be circumstances cropping up where it is not what they would expect and unfortunately the Cambodian people are quite an honest people and show surprise where, in the western world, we understand that they should not. Again, I am sorry that this experience turned out so badly for you, but as someone who has worked my entire life in the hospitality and service industry I also back my team 100% to remove themselves from a situation where they feel that they are being personally attacked and unfortunately, this is how you made this particular guide feel. Not pleasant for either party unfortunately. I do hope that this experience does not sour your thoughts of Cambodia and it's people and if you are even in Siem Reap again, please do feel free to get in touch with us and I would be happy to offer you a complimentary city walking tour with a different guide. I really enjoyed the tour which took us to places where the locals go and showed us a hidden and different side to Siem Reap, rather than the main tourist attractions. The guide was very friendly with interesting knowledge to share. I highly recommend this as a memorable experience, I even went back the next day to visit the pagoda temple again as I liked it so much, and have recommended the tour to friends.
