Our guide Russell was great! Very friendly, very knowledgeable. The tour gave a great insight into Tauranga & NZ. Stopped at great locations & good photo opportunities. The Kiwi farm was very interesting. We had 2 kids with us who also enjoyed it. Highly recommended the tour!

Russell was our guide and he was excellent taking us around Mt Maunganui, Tauranga, and the surrounding countryside. As part of that experience we did get in and out of our mini bus frequently. Enjoyed learning of the settlement history and our kiwi tasting amongst the kiwi vines was really special. Russell took us to many picture points. Would recommend.

Extremely informative and fun. Saw the town and suburbs which were interesting. The Kiwi farm was fun and very informative. Learned a lot and enjoyed seeing how it grown and just the beautiful groves. Very different from what we expected.

This tour was everything you hope you don't have during a short cruise stop. It's not like anything went wrong, and the tour guide was fine, but the whole excursion was built around how many sites you could see rather than the quality of the stops made. Notice the name of the tour includes "FREE kiwifruit tasting." Yes, kiwi was offered, and yes, it was included in the price of the tour. This is how it went... We stopped at a kiwi farm, looked at the kiwi growing (interesting for about 5 minutes because we've never seen kiwi growing). Our guide told us that they had permission to be on the farm, however, we were forbidden to touch anything. Then he took a small portable table out of the back of the mini-bus, set it up, and sliced kiwi that STILL HAD THE PRICE TAGS FROM THE GROCERY STORE on them. Well, if that wasn't a belly laugh!! We're on a farm with about a million beautiful and fresh kiwi and we are served grocery store kiwi! Yeah, that's the kind of tour it was. Again, not the guide's fault. He did what the company told him to do. I would not recommend this tour.

Small group tour is the way to go! All interesting information. Loved the café where we had our tea break. Very nice owner. Kiwi orchard was a hit. Loved seeing and being in an actual orchard. The tasting was also wonderful. I’ll be looking for NZ avocado oils at my local grocers. Thank you" I'm sorry this tour did not live up to your expectations. I could tell from your body language right from the start that you were unsure you were going to enjoy yourself but I did my utmost to keep the tour lighthearted and fun. As you have said yourself nothing actually went wrong ergo I would suggest you do a little more research before booking tours as this was obviously not the tour for you and I don't believe deserves the three stars you have given it. Also in response to your comments regarding the kiwifruit orchard, had you been paying attention to the considerably more than 5 minutes talk I did regarding the kiwifruit industry, instead of hiding behind the van and complaining to your husband (Yes I saw you), you would have known that the kiwifruit is picked months before being ripe on the vine and as such was not edible, hence I provided fruit to taste from elsewhere. You got to taste Gold and the recently developed Red Kiwifruit as well as fantastic Avocado Oils and yet you decide to judge the tour based on the labels on the fruit. That says a lot more about you than it does about the tour. Said tags were NOT SUPERMARKET TAGS they are Zespri labels that are put onto all New Zealand Kiwifruit as they are grown under license. Again had you being paying attention you would know that. Further more we do not advertise that you get to pick fruit on any sight we list this tour on. In fact we say otherwise. In future as I said before please do a little more research before booking as this is only a 4 hour tour intended to give a snapshot of life in this part of New Zealand and is very well received by the larger majority that do this tour.

Tauranga and kiwi tasting

Stopping at a Kiwi farm and learning how they grow and when they are harvested. We also got to taste the green and golden Kiwi’s. They were both good. Russel was an excellent tour guide and went the extra mile when we left a package at the cafe.

Sights of Tauranga was great, tasting by the tour guide/driver not as expected, thought we were going to an actual operating farm. However the driver/guide had superb knowledge which enhanced the experience.
