Thought Gregory was lovely- very patient with all of us. The course was informative, interactive and relaxed. We drank some delicious wine , bought more and ate everything we made ( which was a lot great value for money in a lovely wine bar. Thoroughly recommend this

Fun experience to learn about Georgian cuisine
    Jordi_M, May 2024
Lovely cooking class. Small group (we had 5 people in our group) which means that you can have a really in depth conversation about the food, the preparation and the recipe. The khiklali dough is pre prepared, since it needs to rest a lot. But the other things you will make from scratch. One representative can make the khachapuri dough and one can make the filling of the khinkali. Then everyone will start making their own khinkali with help from the head chef. I am notoriously bad at folding dumplings, but with some good help from our chef Grisha I managed to produce some decent enough khinkali. Chatting and having a wine with the other guests was also really fun.
Great fun and use of time

Great fun. Really relaxed atmosphere and people. Our instructor and sommelier, Maria is really knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. She kept the class moving and very relaxed at the same time. I definitely recommend.
    True professionals at your service

The course was very enjoyable and detailed. I was able to learn how the two main Georgian dishes are prepared with a chef with many years of experience and her assistant. In addition to seeing how the Khachapuri and Khinkalis are prepared step by step, we ate some cheese and salad while preparing the dishes. Once finished, we were also able to taste them and enjoy our work, all accompanied by a glass of wine, I would definitely recommend if you like cooking.
    Amazing!

Simply awesome. I am not fan of going to cooking classes, but this one was so good. We had a nice time, nice talk and everything was on point. The teacher, the lessons and the ambience gave a 10 out 10.
    Fun and food

We were probably the worst guests as we started to chat with each other. But the food we made was great and the team was amazing!! Thanks for this great experience

Nice experience. We were the only 2 attending the session so we had the chance to practice all steps. The host took the trouble to explain everything carefully and made the experience fun. There was too much for us to eat so they gave us a box to take the rest away. The venue is a nice room in a Vinoteca
    Fun class, absolutely worth it.

Excellent teacher, they email you the recipes, you can take photos and videos during the class. We bought two tickets and didn't know they would add us to a group, but it was so much fun working together with everyone. You don't make the khinkali dough, that is provided for you. One person from the group makes the filling, another person makes the khachapuri dough, another person finishes the khachapuri. Everyone helps fold the khinkali, which is the most important part of the process to learn. As a proficient cook, watching the process was enough for me to learn how to make everything on my own. And it was so fun talking to the group members and sharing a meal with them.
    Loved it

Really enjoyed the khinkali and katchapuri making class. The chef explained the process clearly and used simple, high quality ingredients. I feel confident giving it a try this weekend.

We enjoyed our interactions with the chef and Leo the translator. The setting was very cosy, in a well-decorated wine shop (Enoteca Decanter). But the class left a lot to be desired -- we only really did about 5% of the work ourselves which felt like a token attempt at cooking. This included wrapping khinkalis using skins that were prepared beforehand, 2 minutes of mixing the dough for the khachapuri, and the final stages of shaping the dough after it. In all, we got to see mostly only a very small part of the process of making khinkalis and khachapuri, and didn't even get a peek at the kitchen, let alone the experience of cooking the khinkalis or putting tje khachapuri in the oven etc., all of which were done separately by the chef. We did ask if we could see the kitchen and didn't really get a warm invitation to. The whole experience lasted about 1h15m, part of which was just us eating a prepared salad and wine by ourselves. Overall, the class could be improved considerably. A few things to consider are: 1. doing the class in the kitchen, or at least having students step in and out of the kitchen to see/participate in more of the process. 2. having an experience of mixing the khinkali dough and shaping the skins (I recognize that it takes 3+ hours to make it so wasn't realistic that we could make our own dough, but we could have been shown how to do it, and then have made the khinkali with the pre-made skins). This would give students a sense for what to expect when they try it again at home. 3. Check ahead of time for dietary preferences -- we had stated that we were vegetarians and the translator was aware but it didn't seem to have been communicated to the chef ahead of time, so we ended up with khinkalis with cheese only, as opposed to mushroom+cheese.
    Delicious and educational!

We had a memorable evening with Seva. He did a great job of instructing us about each of the steps and sharing his knowledge of the dishes. Very enjoyable experience - highly recommend!

    Disappointing cooking class experience
    Tarja_H, Sep 2023
We booked the tour the evening before. We arrived on time at 1 o'clock. The entrance/courtyard was basically a construction site, which made it hard to find and there was welding done outside of the location. The staff were not aware of our cooking class and as there was no English speaker on site, they called an English speaking employee. The chef/guide arrived 20min late. He nor the management was not aware of the class which resulted in us waiting and didn't give a good impression of the service. The general feeling was awkward and we even considered cancelling the class. We however stayed. The class was quite short/quick. The chef was skillful, but we were not able to participate as much as we expected. The location of the class felt like a break room for staff members/construction site. We never entered the kitchen. As soon as the preparations were done and we waited for the food to cook, the chef was not around to for example socialize etc. When the food arrived, the chef wished us a good day and left. The duration of the class was 2h and the chef was present for max 1h. At the end, we were left alone in the location to finish our meal.
    I came, I cooked, I ate.

The shop is very cute with a lovely selection. In a cute square behind the Main Street. The staff were wonderful especially both the sommelier and the chef. Highly recommend. Wonderful experience.

We had a lovely time - although you don’t get to make the pasta for the kinkali we learnt how to fold them to prepare for cooking. Our guide was fabulous…
    Excellent Georgian Cooking Class

Fantastic, truly "hands on" cooking class. Sometimes cooking classes are a lot of watching, whereas this one was a lot of doing. Instruction was so good, will actually try to make Kinkali when I return home.
