Great tour with the energetic Givi

I had a blast with our energetic tour guide Givi. He was very knowledgable explaining everything in detail and answering any question. We did try some of the great local wine, Chacha, georgian sweets and rolled wine ice cream. Givi also took lots of group photos and portrait ones with the monuments behind. Would definitely recommend great bang for your buck! Gaumarjos jos jos jos!

Our delightful guide, Givi, was like an exhuberant professor who loved sharing the extraordinary facts of his country. In a comfortable van, we visited 2 extraordinary ancient Christian sites, where we could have easily spent 2-3 hours at each, but had signed up for this inexpensive "quick" trip, which was a excellent introduction. Givi's English was very good, though he spoke quite fast since there was so much to tell in only a short time :-). We recommend this trip highly.

Armenia in one day

The Tour started in time (7 a.m.) and we headed straightly to the armenian border (about 1 hour). The border cross went smooth, so we could buy a few things in the shop. Afterwards we visited the Haghartsin Area, which was interesting. The Guide (Zurabi) explained a lot during the entire trip. So he did in Dilijan and the Lake Sevan as well as Erevan. We die stop shortly in Dilijan, while we stayed like 40 minutes in Lake Sevan, with the nice monastery. In Erevan we visited the mother of Armenia statue and then had like 90 minutes free time. We returned in 11 p.m., the roads were a bit dangerous, since it has been very foggy. But the driver was driving very carefully. The majority of the trip is driving, but the stops are very nice and the guide really showed some effort.

Amazing tour! We learned a lot of historical facts and beliefs about the buildings and places from Lasha. The church in Mtskheta was magnificent and got the chance to go down the river shore. He took us to souvenir, food and wine shops that we think he recommends for us. We got to try some wines and chacha. All that while he’s taking photos of us during the tour.

Givi was my tour guide and Zaza was the driver. Initially it was supposed to be a party of 5, but the other party dropped out so effectively this became a personal tour just for me. It was amazing 4 hours. The monastery, church and the town themselves were very enchanting. Add in Givi’s knowledge, history and storytelling. Every fresco literally came to life in front of you.
