Although our ship docked late, and we were running late to our meeting spot Josephine accommodated us by starting the tour near our shuttle bus drop off location. We were treated to the immensely interesting long history of Valencia by visiting the many historical sites and explaining their significance and design by the many foreign inhabitants and the power of the Catholic church to wield their influence on society and architecture. We were treated to the local Horchata beverage as a midtour pick me up. we toured the alleyways to see the different districts within the city and wound our way to the city center to end the tour. No other tour I believe would have shown us these areas. Josephine gave us many recommendations of things to do in the city on our own as well as restaurants and bars to visit, our only regret was we were not staying long enough to try some of them. We would highly recommend this personal tour as she was personable and spoke excellent English and truly loved her city.

we were at the designated location which turned out to be a major plaza next to the central train station. Literally thousands of people walking in and out. We never saw a sign with our name. So therefore never made the tour. Awaiting decision by Viator if they'll refund out money.

Must do tour!

This tour was a highlight of this trip. Marcos intertwined both knowledge of the history of old Town and personal experiences of growing up there. I was amazed at the history of the town and the evolutionary stages it went through. Marcos made Valencia feel like a place everyone should want to call home. The cathedrals, silk exchange, towers, market, round, eateries, just everything was incredible. Not only did Maecos walk and talk for 3 hours he followed at, with permission to do so, with several other places of interest to check out outside of old Town or places inside old Town to go in to. Due to time constraints and available of entering the tour only goes since the Silk Exchange. Marcos also provided several food, beverage, and dessert recommendations. Sadly, we didn't have time to try them all, but the ones we did try were simply amazing. I would consider taking this tour again and I would highly recommend anyone that visits Valencia to take it. We were lucky to do this tour as one of the first things we did and it reshaped our plans for the rest of the trip. I do want to call out readers to pay attention to the starting place. Marcos has tried to get it changed in the listing, but for some reason it won't change. There's an address to a money exchange, which is not the correct place. Just under the address it says to meet at the clock at the north station. It's about a 5 minute walk between them if the construction is still going on when you read this.

Due to the extreme winds in Valencia the town of Valencia closed the port to the ship. Therefore, we were stuck in the middle of the ocean. I notified the tour guide via text of the circumstances and requested a refund. After 2 phone calls to Viator and emails, we were refused a refund for something that wasn't my fault. In other words, the customer can go to hell, we don't matter. Viator took my money with no problem but penalized me for not making land!! Never will I do business with this company again.
