We make the collections in Valencia to enjoy the activity with a oficial tourist guide all the morning. We will depart to Valencia after the activity.

What To Expect

Get picked up from Valencia and head off in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Caves of San Jose. After a scenic drive, you’ll arrive at the caves, with admission included to help you sidestep the long entrance lines and get in quickly.

Once inside, find out about the origins of the cave and discover an underground labyrinth with stalactites and stalagmites aplenty, and a guide to lead the way so you don’t get lost.

The highlight of the trip is an underground riverboat ride inside the caves. You can then finish the trip with a seamless return transfer to the start point in Valencia.

If you do not leave the information of your favorite pick-up point, we will automatically assign you: Torres de Serranos.
Being late is not our responsability.
The duration of the activity (from the collection until we return from the caves) is 4h.

We will not bathe in the river in this activity.
Inside the caves there is a constant annual temperature of 20ºC.
You will have 30 minutes of free time to use bathrooms, bars and shops or just for relaxing at the area.
You can take your own food/drinks. But is not allowed to eat inside the bus.
You have included the transportation to go and return (same pick up point)
If you check out from your hotel, you can take your luggage with you. You must notify us to guarantee space.
You will be accompanied by an official guide (from Valencia&Go) who will tell you the essential you need to know about Valencia, as well as all the secrets that are hidden inside the Cuevas de San José, its incredible history and curiosities in detail (English and Spanish). Besides, on the boat tour you will go with a guide-boatman who will guide you along the way and will point out some key spots of the natural wonder. (could be in Spanish). If you have any questions, you can always ask the official Valencia & Go guide, he will be willing to answer them when you leave the caves.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

This was an excellent tour. I was a solo traveller but felt very comfortable. The tour guides were very informative. The caves were amazing. I highly recommend this experience. There is a (very good) surprise near the end which I will not give away. Worth every penny.

Cool location, rushed tour

Very cool caves and waterways. Tour felt rushed and was only given in Spanish despite my request for English translation.

Hi Beth! Thank you for your comments! Our guide did the whole tour in English and Spanish. Maybe you are referring to the boatman inside the caves, as we explained in the tour description, we can not guarantee that all the boatmen speak English because they are locals in the area and dominate Spanish. That is why our guide was giving you relevant information about the caves on the way there. Even so, we hope you enjoyed the tour and we look forward to seeing you next time!

Cave adventure outside the city

These caves are about 45 min outside of Valencia. The tour guide provided a great history of the area along the way, The caves are beautiful. It is a comfortable temperature of 20 celsius inside. You ride a boat thru the tunnels and caves. Then you walk for a little bit and then you get back in your boat and go back through the tunnels and caves but this time you can take pictures. On the return ride you stop in the open area for a music and light show before the exit. There are a few shops and a place to eat in the town. And there's also an old Monastery. I loved this adventure and ap did mu college age daughter.

Super cool experience through the caves in a small boat. It was a great way to see some beautiful nature and immerse yourself in the local area. It was a short tour and we were back in the city of Valencia by 12. Highly recommend!

Great tour! I know some people complain about having a Spanish speaking boat guide. We were lucky to have an English speaking boat guide. But I think it would be amazing either way. The tour guide gave both English and Spanish tour information while on the bus. He gave us a lot of information about the boat tour just in case.

Lovely trip by mini bus, 45 minutes from Valencia to San Jose Caves. We didn't have to wait to enter the caves because our guide booked us the entry at 10 AM. The caves were lovely, the ride with the boat was a pleasure and a delight. We were 14 peoples in a boat.

Fun easy trip to a fascinating location

Had a great time visiting the caves. An easy trip from Valencia in a well appointed shuttle. Our guide was engaging and friendly. The caves themselves are really cool to travel through. Great guides (though they only speak Spanish) - but even without interpretation, it's a beautiful experience. As a bonus, we left our commemorative photo on the bus when we departed, and the next day the tour group brought it back to our hotel - such great customer service!

Almost perfect

I wish I could rate the experience and guide separately but unfortunately I cannot. Our guide Anais was amazing 10/10. She answered all our questions and translated all the information for us at the caves. We got to go on a little mini bonus hike and she had great recommendations of things to do while we were in Valencia. Any tour she leads is bound to be a good one. For the experience itself, it was a bit underwhelming. The actual cave tour was about one hour long and it was fun and everything I expected. We ended up getting there early and had a chance to drink some coffee and thay was great. The little bonus hike through the ruins was great and the views were spectacular. My biggest issue with the tour is the lack of a second stop. I've done several half day excursions and the ones I've enjoyed the most combine 2 close by things into a single trip. For the 1 hour cave tour, its a bit too much driving.

We consider that this service is complete because the tour starts from the moment we pick you up in Valencia where we provide very complete information about the whole city, in the caves you have free time to walk around the area and to eat or drink something if you need it, visit the Iberian village and then the tour inside of the caves. We value your advice and we will take it into account in the future. We also want to tell you that yesterday there was a strike and we decided to start the tour a little earlier so as not to run into the road blockade. Thank you very much.
