Great experience

The tour was very informative and we learned a lot. The guide was knowledgeable and spoke very clear English. We had two young children who also enjoyed it, as it was very family friendly. The carriage ride was a great way to see the city and dropped off at a very convenient location to continue our exploration of Vienna. Note that the carriage accommodated a small stroller very easily.

Memorable Vienna carriage ride

Fascinating Tour

Had an enjoyable morning finding out a bit more of the history surrounding Viennese Flakers. It was also great to hear how the horses are cared for and and trained. The stables were well kept. Information was given in German and then English so it took a bit longer but gave my daughter an opportunity to practice her German listening skills. I could have just got a horse and carriage ride around the city but starting off at the stables first just made it even more special. Would definitely recommend to anyone with children too.

Delightful and informative morning

The young man who gave the talk in both German and fluent English was really interesting and he welcomed questions, and as a lifelong horse lover I was fascinated. It was followed by an enjoyable drive back to the city centre. One of our fellow passengers conversed with our driver and kindly translated for us. The horses are very obviously very well cared for and certainly not overworked.

How the Vienna Horse drawn Carriages Operate

Interesting way to find out how the horse drawn carriages operate. You are met at the stables and shown how the carriages are assembled and the horses fitted with harnesses. We also got some history on the creation of the carriages, how many horses are involved, and what the various staff do. Once the carriages and horses are sorted out guests are loaded and then driven from the stables into the city. This takes about an hour and give a good idea what outer Vienna looks like. Good value for money. Tour ran in German and English on our day

The whole tour at the stables were excellent. However our horse carriage guide did not show us or tell us anything on the way to our drop off which was supposed to be a guided tour. As soon as he dropped us, he picked up another set of passengers and straight away started talking.

Regarding the one point you have been criticizing we want to point out that we really try to display clearly that the way from the stables to the city centre is not equal to an actual roundtrip in the city centre. That's also mirrored in the price. So the coachman is in this case not the guide - since there are not many historic sights on the way from the stables to the city centre. The tour focuses more on the behind the scenes information and the guided tour at the stables, the ride itself is a wonderful add on. This is how we want this experience to be seen. But hopefully we may welcome you soon again.

This tour started at the stables (which are definitely off the beaten path) and it was great to hear how the horses live, are taken care of, and watched over. The ride into town, while not overly scenic was enjoyable and we drove by multiple churches and monuments.

We thoroughly enjoyed taking the tour of the carriage horse stables and learning all about the lives of the horses and the carriage drivers. The stables could not have been more well kept and the horse were immaculate. Highly recommend.

Great value carriage ride. The tour of the stables was very interesting. Although the ride from the stables to the city center wasn't the most scenic, it was ca. 1h long and we enjoyed it very much.

As we found out our "Secrets of the Fiaker" Tour didn't meet your expectations for 100%. We do understand that the ride from our stables to the city centre is not a classic horse-carriage ride through the historic city centre. We really try to clarify this in all descriptions of the package. The focus of our "Secrets of the Fiaker" Tour you booked is really on getting a look behind the scenes of our daily routines with the horses. So you had the guided tour at our stables, from there you took the carriage to the city centre - which is an hour ride, but of course not as scenic as a ride in the historic centre. To be fair enough, a ride in the historic centre has a much higher price than our guided stable tour incl. the ride. Our guided stable tour + ride is meant to give you these interesting insights as mentioned. We want to apologize if that came across different. On the other hand it's unfortunate to hear that you didn't enjoy the actual ride, after the tour from the stables to the city centre, or that you have expected something different. We do know that the ride from our stables isn't as attractive as a ride in the actual city centre itself – but we think that the moderate price displays that. Besides that we really try to point out that this experience you took is more to discover the behind the scenes happenings. Abbiamo imparato molte cose sui cavalli da carrozza: forse bisognerebbe aggiungere qualche dettaglio anche sulle carrozze. Il punto di partenza è in una zona periferica, ma il lungo giro in carrozza, che termina in pieno centro, è davvero bello!
