Just about every Blue Mountains sightseeing tour stops at Echo Point Lookout—excursions typically also cover Scenic World, the Jenolan Caves, the Featherdale Wildlife Park. You can combine the lookout with a wine tasting experience or a boat cruise, or drive to the park yourself and take the hop-on, hop-off sightseeing bus from Katoomba. You can also embark on several walks from here, including the Echo Point Walk, the Three Sisters Walk, and the Prince Henry Cliff Walk.

Wear sturdy shoes if you plan to walk on any of the trails—the stairs past the Three Sisters are very steep.
Echo Point Lookout is fully accessible, with parking spaces and a wide, paved area to reach the top lookout.
Echo Point Lookout is located in Katoomba, just outside Blue Mountains National Park, and is accessible by car or train. From Sydney, take the Great Western Highway towards Katoomba and follow the signs to Echo Point or take the Blue Mountain train line. It’s also a stop on the hop-on, hop-off sightseeing bus and most Blue Mountain guided tours.
Echo Point Lookout and the Blue Mountains are open year-round, though bad weather and bushfires in the summer can cause closures. The Visitor Center at Echo Point is open daily from 9 am to 4 pm, with the exception of Christmas Day. To avoid the crowds, visit early in the morning or around dusk. Leave yourself extra time if you plan to go on any of the walks or explore other parts of the park.
According to Indigenous legend, three sisters from the Katoomba tribe were in love with three brothers from the Nepean tribe, but were forbidden to marry. War broke out and a sorcerer changed the girls to rock to protect them during the battle. The sorcerer was killed in the battle, so the sisters remain in stone to this day.
