This wildlife sanctuary offers one of the best opportunities in Port Douglas to observe iconic Australian animals. Admission is valid for five days and includes access to all four wilderness habitats, as well as tours, feedings, and presentations throughout the day. Tickets can be upgraded to include special dining experiences, overnights, or private tours. Travelers can combine a visit to the sanctuary with a tour of the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, or a day of ziplining through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed forest.

How to get there

The Wildlife Habitat is located at the southern end of Four Mile Beach, 3.3 miles (5.4 kilometers) south of Port Douglas and 39 miles (63 kilometers) northwest of Cairns. Several local shuttle buses from Port Douglas and Cairns let passengers off at the entrance.

When to get there

The park is usually open on a daily basis throughout the year (except for Christmas Day), from morning to late afternoon, but it's advisable to check the schedule before visiting. The best time to visit is between May and October, when the weather tends to be dry and sunny.
