Calgary trip ideas
Calaway Park is one of Calgary’s most popular family attractions. A basic single day admission ticket grants access to all the park’s rides, attractions, and live shows, though games tickets must be purchased separately. Visitors over the age of 50 receive discounted admission, and children 2 and under get in free.
The easiest way to reach Calaway Park is by car, and parking is free. To get there by public transportation, take Calgary Transit Bus 408 to Canada Olympic Park, and catch a taxi or rideshare from there.
The park is open daily in July and August, with more limited spring hours (starting in May) and fall hours (into October). Plan to visit on a weekday during the spring or fall for shorter lines and sparser crowds. Some rides won’t operate in inclement weather.
Visitors to Calaway Park have five main restaurants to choose from. The Calaway Café, Carousel Kitchen, and Dockside Diner serve casual comfort food (think chicken strips, hot dogs, and french fries). Head to Timber Falls Pizza Co. for a slice or whole pie, or grab a burger from the Burger Inn. Picnics are also welcome.
