The basics

Start your family’s journey in the Art Studio, where children can choose from different stations designed to spark creative expression through sculpture, painting, and mixed media. You can also head to the Pirate Ship—offering a dress-up pirate adventure—and go for gardening activities in the backyard. The museum also has a special play space dedicated to toddlers and babies.

Things to know before you go

  • All adults must remain with their children through the entirety of their visit.

  • It’s best to start your visit in the Art Studio, so that your paintings have enough time to dry before you leave.

  • All paint in the Art Studio washes out, but smocks are provided for extra protection.

  • Admission is free for children under the age of 1.

How to get there

There are several bus stops about a block away from the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry, but if you have a little one in tow, it might be best to drive. While there is no on-site parking, there are metered parking spaces, as well as the Visitor’s Center and Camden/Exchange Parking Garages for a small hourly fee.
