Discover one of Crete’s most important archaeological sites during a visit to the ruins of Archanes. Along with learning about the area's history and seeing evidence of aqueducts, a reservoir, and a theater, you'll see more personal remnants, such as ancient musical instruments, pottery shards, and cooking pots, at this archaeological site and museum.
Excellent private day trip with Yanni as our guide! He brought us to Knossos in perfect timing before the big buses arrived, then whisked us to a gorgeous winery for private tour and tasting, and finished off with a truly delicious meal at a family-run taverna in Archanes village on the way back to Heraklion. Thanks for a great day, Yanni!!
Great experience. Good communication, prompt pick up. Our guide got us to the palace before the huge lines that form later in the day. We were able to tailor our specific route. The wine tasting was informative and enjoyable. Lunch was so wonderful!
Great private tour and visit of a Titakis winery. We sampled 5 different local wine varieties. The lunch was also delicious - 4 traditional courses at a small restaurant in Arcanes village.
amazing trip!! we got a guide at knossos but i would not recommend doing that as she was very long winded and there were captions for all the interesting things. winery was amazing also!!
one thing is, it was not private. we were with two other people who we did not know. it was fine for us and they were very cool but just be wary if that’s what you’re looking for!
