The flagship Neiman Marcus store, located one block west of Main Street Garden Park in Dallas’ historic city center, is bordered by Main, Ervay, and Commerce streets. From DFW International Airport, take TX-114 East about 11 miles (18 kilometers) to I-35 E South to the Commerce Street exit. The closest DART station is the Akard Station, about a four-minute walk.

The Second Flagship

Technically, this Neiman Marcus is the chain’s second flagship. In December 1964, the original store suffered a massive fire that took 400 firefighters five hours to fight. Claudia Alta “Lady Bird” Johnson, wife of Lyndon B. Johnson, was a frequent shopper in those days, and her Presidential inauguration gown so happened to be in the design stages at the store when the fire broke out.
