If you’re curious about Asian art, the Crow Museum of Asian Art is a good place to start your discovery, with works from China, Korea, Japan, India, and Southeast Asia. Highlights of the museum’s permanent exhibition include the Seated Daoist Deity Fountain and a collection of 18th-century Chinese jade pieces. Some tours of the Dallas Art District pass by the museum, and you can opt to visit with a private guide.
The museum hosts a rotating series of temporary exhibitions, events, and lectures.
Admission to the museum is free, but donations are welcome.
Facilities at the museum include restrooms and a coat check. There’s no gift shop or café, but you’ll find plenty of dining options in the surrounding Dallas Arts District.
The museum has elevator access for wheelchairs and strollers.
The museum is in the Trammell Crow Center along Flora Street, just around the corner from the Dallas Museum of Art. It’s easy to reach on foot if you're in the Dallas Arts District, or you can take the tram to St. Paul Station, a 5-minute walk away. There’s also paid parking at the Trammell Crow Center Parking Garage.
The museum is closed on Mondays and most major holidays. The rest of the year, it’s typically open from mid-morning to late afternoon, but sometimes stays open late for special events and lectures. Weekday visits tend to be quieter, and the museum is often a good spot to escape the crowds of the surrounding Dallas Arts District.
Dallas’ cultural hub is one of the highlights of Downtown. It's packed with museums, music and performing arts venues, and hip cafés and museums. Dallas Museum of Art is the obvious place to begin your tour of the district, as it's home to one of the largest art collections in the country. Continue to the Nasher Sculpture Center to marvel at modern and contemporary masterpieces, then expand your knowledge of everything from dinosaurs to DNA at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.
