The complex includes hundreds of cells, churches, chapels, refectories and living quarters hollowed out of the rock face.The complex was founded in the 6th century by St. David Garejeli, one of the thirteen Assyrian monks who arrived in the country at the same time and complex never stopped functioning. After David Gareja we will stop at village Udabno where guests can have a horse riding experience. On the way returning to Tbilisi we will stop at famous Patardzeuli winery, where our guest will taste several types of Georgia wine.

The path to the ancient monastery We will meet in Tbilisi and head south-east towards the Georgian-Azerbaijani border. The only village that you will meet on the way to the monastery, as if making excuses because of its location in an arid area, is called Udabno (desert - in Georgian). On the way, you will see the natural landscape of the neighborhood - a waterless steppe that changes color depending on the season, ridges of bizarre "design" hills and the outlines of the Caucasus Mountains visible in the distance.
