Bus #1 stops at Teatro Pérez Galdós, a 4-minute walk from the museum; lines #2 and #3 stop 2 minutes away on Alameda de Colón. The museum is also included on some hop-on, hop-off bus tours of the city.

Opening hours are Tuesday through Sunday from morning to early evening. Guided tours begin on the hour, with the last tours departing 1 hour before closing time. The museum is closed on December 24–25; December 31–January 1; January 6; Shrove Tuesday, and May 1. Guided tours of the museum last roughly 1 hour.
