Art, wine, boutique accommodations—with a brewery thrown in for fun—that’s the experience waiting here at this vineyard just north of Hobart, where imposing Mt. Wellington rises in the distance yet you still smell salt on the breeze. Housed at one of Tasmania’s oldest vineyards, Moorilla Winery uses tight clusters of grapes that are grown on exceptionally mature vines, and crafts them into Chardonnay, Syrah, and Pinot Noir. Nearly 20 different wines in total are produced right here on the vineyard, which is conveniently set right next to MONA—the fascinating Museum of Old and New art that houses Australia’s largest private art collection in its modern, quirky interior. Combine a tour of the museum and vineyard before sitting down for a tasting, discussing the elements of art on display while swishing and sniffing your wine. If the entire experience is too good to leave, the boutique, luxurious MONA pavilions are located right on sight, so you can wake in the morning, enjoy the café, and spend another Hobart day surrounded by art and wine.

The Moorilla Wine's, Mona...
The Moorilla Wine's, Mona day trip was good value for money, unique and well organised. We particularly enjoyed having the time to go back into the museum to listed to some live jazz before heading back to Hobart on the Ferry.

A day immersed in Art…
A quick trip across to Mona on the ferry. A morning spent looking around at the exhibitions which were both amazing, inspiring and controversial. A beautiful lunch at The Source Restaurant. An afternoon wandering around the grounds, followed by a Moorilla Winery Tour and wine tasting. Not a bad way to spend the day and definitely worth doing the full day tour. Excellent.

Interesting day out but needs a time check
We had a art/wine day trip. Mona was a bit off - wouldn’t refer friends unless they like weird things - however was very stuffy in there and we were glad to get out. The lunch at the Source was great. Service excellent and food was very good. However we had to wait a long time before we had a wine tasting experience so it could have been earlier.

Do it!
It was our first visit to Mona and we found it absolutely fascinating, the lunch at Source was excellent and the wine tasting at the end just added to the day.
