The Broad

221 S Grand Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90012, United States, Los Angeles, California, 90012

The basics

The Broad is notable for its extensive collection—one of the world’s leading postwar and contemporary art collections—and its architecture. Designed by architecture firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler, the building has a bright metallic honeycomb-like perforated exterior, contrasting with the adjacent Frank Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall. Architecture-focused Downtown Los Angeles walking tours can fill you in on the building’s concept and design.

The three-story museum has 50,000 square feet (4,600 square meters) of exhibition space covering two floors. The museum offers a free mobile museum guide (no download required), including free audio tours, family activities, and artwork details.
