The basics

Founded by Lillian Disney to honor her husband Walt's commitment to arts and culture in LA, the concert hall is home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Master Chorale. The 2,265-seat performance space also hosts an impressive and eclectic array of musicians and singers from around the world. Acts range from the Soweto Gospel Choir to composer Philip Glass to indie rockers Death Cab for Cutie.

Free self-guided audio tours, which are narrated by John Lithgow and feature insight from architect Frank Gehry, conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen, and others, are available, as well as daily guided group tours.

Things to know before you go

How to get there

Located about a half block from LA's Performing Arts Center and across from the Museum of Contemporary Art, Walt Disney® Concert Hall is one block west of the Civic Center/Grand Park station on the Red and Purple Metro lines. If driving, check the latest information about nearby street closures and allow extra travel time accordingly. Parking is available directly beneath the venue, and valet parking is available at the Hope Street entrance for evening concerts and weekday matinees, and on weekends.

When to get there

Walt Disney® Concert Hall hosts a range of events and performances throughout the year, and the best time to visit is for a performance. Arrive at least 30 minutes before start time, and if it's your first visit there, give yourself even more time beforehand to explore and find your seat. Free hour-long guided tours are offered most days, and visitors are free to stop by for a meal at one of the hall's restaurants or to browse the shop.

Grammy Museum

Located within the downtown entertainment complex LA Live, the Grammy Museum has four stories and over 30,000 square feet of space dedicated to all things music. Permanent exhibits feature outfits worn by Grammy winners, while past retrospectives have explored different musical genres such as Muzak, hip-hop, heavy metal, and more.
