Divided into multiple zones, Ludopia offers more than 20 activities. Check out the human-sized hamster wheels and multiple optical illusions—or head to a cabana filled with bamboo chimes, a toboggan, and a slackline. Don’t miss the sight-deprivation exhibit.
Suitable for visitors over age 2, Ludopia is a good place for families.
Wear comfortable shoes and sun protection or rain gear, depending on the season.
Although the park is wheelchair-accessible, some activities aren’t suited to wheelchair users.
The park has a picnic area and snack kiosk.
Just south of Oloron-Sainte-Marie in the Pyrenees region of France, Espace Ludopia is about a 90-minute drive from the Catholic pilgrimage site of Lourdes. Public transit in the area is lacking, but you can rent a car in Pau, an hour’s drive away.
In July and August, Espace Ludopia is open daily from morning until late evening; December through March, the park is closed, except around the Christmas holidays (weather permitting). Otherwise, hours are largely based on French and Spanish school vacation times and public holidays—so before you go, call to ensure the park is open.
Take the opportunity to explore Espace Ludopia’s rural surroundings and add on another activity or two—such as paragliding, popular with travelers to the area. If you’d rather keep your feet on the ground, you’ll find plenty to see and do in nearby Oloron-Sainte-Marie, from wandering around the town’s fortified walls to visiting the 13th-century Grede Tower.
