The huge star-shaped Citadel of Quebec (Citadelle de Quebec) is the largest military fortress in North America still occupied by troops. Begun by the French in the 1750s, the fortress was completed by the British in the mid-19th century, but never actually saw any action. Today, Canada’s French-speaking Royal 22nd Regiment (Royal 22e Régiment) is based here.

Learned so much
Wow. Tommy really knows Quebec City! We had such a great time (ages 16-80) on our private tour . Highly recommend … we all agreed we felt like we spent 3 hours with a wise professor ! Great for history nerds like us (and he was very flexible when we realized we were in the wrong meet up spot).

Educational and enjoyable tour!
This was an excellent walking tour. Tommy was a great guide, with deep knowledge about the history and architecture of the city. We came away with a much deeper understanding and appreciation for the city. Highly recommend.

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. He provided a very thorough history of Quebec and Canada. He showed us numerous landmarks throughout the city. Took us to key historical sites. We highly recommend this tour to all history buffs and those interested in learning more about this lovely city.

Superb tour, wonderful guide
Wonderful tour for just the two of us. Michel was extremely knowledgeable, responsive, a delight to be with as he showed and told us the story of Quebec City and the history of the relationship with the United States. Simply outstanding. Would recommend with highest reviews.
