The Heritage Village and Visitor Center is open every day (excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day) from midmorning to early evening. Hours and access may vary in the winter. Special events are held throughout the year, including December’s free Christkindlmarkt holiday festivities and the springtime Baby Animal Celebration.

Horseback Riding at This is the Place Heritage Park

Guided trail rides and horseback riding lessons are offered at the historic park for beginner to advanced riders. Travel year-round along trails that follow the paths early pioneers once rode more than 100 years ago. Visit in the winter to traverse snowy trails and see Salt Lake City blanketed in white. Riders as young as 8 are welcome on trail rides with an accompanying adult.
